Thanks for the info. We understand that the TC connects to the Netgear AC1750.

The TC is with the bridge mode off.

I think you might have meant to say that the TC is set up in a Router Mode of "Off (Bridge Mode)". Unfortunately, Apple uses very confusing terminology for their router mode settings. Despite what you might think, "Bridge Mode" is not "Off" in this setting. Don't worry about that for now.....we will review the TC settings again later.

I am trying to get the TC to an extended network to 4 airport express.

Will each AirPort Express connect to the TC using a wired Ethernet cable connection?

or

Will each AirPort Express connect to the TC using only a wireless connection?

or

Will some AirPort Express devices connect using Ethernet and some connect using wireless?

We assume that you have the most recent version of the AirPort Express.......the one with two Ethernet ports......would that be correct?

If not.....and the AirPort Express has only one Ethernet port......what model number of AirPort Express do you have?

You can find the model number on the side of the Express. It starts with an "A" followed by four numbers. Example.....A1264.

Very important......IF.....you are planning to use only wireless connections between the AirPort Express devices and the TC.......the TC is going to need to produce a wireless network that is different from the ATT or Netgear wireless network. The reason for this is the AirPort Express devices will not be able to connect to the ATT or Netgear wireless signal and extend the signal using a wireless connection.

The Expresses can only extend the signal from the TC using a wireless connection......so the TC must produce a wireless network with a different name than the ATT or Netgear network. If the TC does not use a different name, the Expresses will not be able to connect to network provided by the ATT or Netgear router.

Sorry for all the questions, but you have a very complex network at best. Even if we can get things working, I do not think the network will prove to be all that reliable.

Trying to extend a wireless network using a time capsule.

More information is needed in order to give you an accurate answer.

1) Will the Time Capsule connect to the existing network using only a wireless connection?

If yes, there must be another Apple AirPort router that is providing the existing wireless network. The Time Capsule cannot wirelessly extend the signal from a third party router.

2) Will the Time Capsule connect to the existing network using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection?

If yes, then the Time Capsule can extend either a network provided by another Apple AirPort router.....or....it can also extend the network provided by a third party router.

3) What device.....a Mac, an iPhone / iPad, or PC......will you be using to set up and configure the Time Capsule?

We understand that you have a Mac laptop, but we did not get receive answers to our questions on "how" you are planning to extend the network. Please review the questions that we asked again and provide the information that we requested.

1) Will the Time Capsule connect to the existing wireless network using only a wireless connection?

If yes, there must be another Apple AirPort router that is providing the existing wireless network. The Time Capsule cannot wirelessly extend the signal from a third party router.

If you plan to extend the network using a wireless connection, please provide the model number of your main Apple AirPort router that is currently providing your wireless network signal.

2) Will the Time Capsule connect to the existing network using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection?

If yes, then the Time Capsule can extend either a network provided by another Apple AirPort router.....or....it can also extend the network provided by a third party router.

If you plan to extend the network by connecting the Time Capsule back to the main router using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection, please provide the model number of the Apple router that you have.....or......if you do not have an Apple router, please provide the manufacturer name and model number of your wireless router.

Note.....we do not need a serial number.....just the make and model number.

Sorry about that. Here is the setup I have now. My main router is an AT&T Model: 5268AC with the wifi disable. The AT&T is connected by ethernet to a Netgear AC1750 router. The Time Capsule Model (5th Generation) 2TB connect by ethernet to the Netgear AC1750 all are on the same network. The TC is with the bridge mode off. I am trying to get the TC to an extended network to 4 airport express.
