Spacebar double space (Macbook Pro 2018)

To those who've search and looking for a way to solve this frustration please go to Keyboard Service Program for MacBook and MacBook Pro - Apple Support. This is for MBP 2015- 2017 though. Hope this helps cause it sure is annoying!

Same issue here, to at least stop the periods go to System Settings -> Keyboard -> Text -> Uncheck the period after double space

My first time using a Mac (for work) my iPhone XS just randomly went out last weekend after owning it for 4 months. Not impressed with Apple's hardware as of late...

Yes working toward my 5th now. I am going the repair route this time. Disaster for Apple.

The only advice is to take it up with Apple.

UPDATE: It stopped working. It was nice for about 10 min - to the Apple Store

Same problem with my MPB2018 (August, 15"). Started with doubling "t" key, then migrated also to spacebar.

Are there any successful stories with keyboard replacement? Is this problem not big enough for Apple to admit it and really fix it?

OMG, and I thought that it was me having a problem positioning my hand on the keyboard. I noticed this more than a month ago. My MBP 13 is fron October.

Of course this is happening while on travel where I don't have an external keyboard...

I was hoping to stay away from support when I chose this brand. Now I will have to spend more to get an Apple Care because I know I will need it!

Same here, Pro 2018 13" with Touch Bar.

I've my Mac since august, and the problem start to appear 2 weeks ago, it's completely random. If I try to reproduce this double spacing problem by pushing the space bar, nothing. But when I type it appears randomly and it's very frustrating...

This is so embarrassing for Apple. I bought my MacBook Pro 2 2018 version two weeks ago as "refurbished". So they are aware of the "double spacing issue" and they still sold me the faulty MacBook??!! There is nothing left to say. I really hope that customer service will now make a good job, because I need my machine to make my living.

While I'm not experiencing this issue on my 2018 MBP 15", I guess with your software finding this helps to prove that the double key presses some are experiencing is simply a software issue and not hardware related.

Thank god I'm not the onlyone with this problem. I'm actually typing slowly and carefully right now to try to demonstrate the problem. This usually helps prevent it but as you can see there are quite a few double spaces in this sentence. Anyway, I have no idea if I have any sort of warranty here. I bought the MBPro in late 2018 so I would assume there's some way I can take this in? Have others been able to take in a mac and not been charged to fix this? It's getting so bad the computer is barely useable at time, at least when I have to type a lot.

Can anyone confirm if they will fix this issue outside of warranty? Mine ran out a few months ago. It's clearly not 'wear and tear' as everyone is having the same issue. If they have a fix then this should be a recall.

This mac cost a small fortune and now just 18 months in and its buggered - I have to go back through every sentence I type and remove the double spaces! I write copy - this isn't cool.

That's not good advice as something could break. I don't believe anyone that works for Apple would tell a customer to do that.
