Lightning SD card reader crops photos

I have had this issue for a year or 2 now. I’m am using the lightning SD card reader to import pics from Moultrie trail camera to iPhone 6. The photos import fine, but they are cropped to where you can only view a portion of the pic immediatly after they are imported. From there you can edit the photo on your iPhone and the full image is visible. If you make any change to the photo and save it, the full photo remains visible. This gets annoying when you have 250+ pics per camera to sort through. It’s not the end of the world but just checking if there may be something out there to resolve this? Thanks
