Mac Mail Calendar stopped working with google

I’m using macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 on my MacBook Pro. About 2 weeks ago it stopped working with my Gmail and Google Calendar. When I attempt to enter my password, the password screen freezes. I deleted both of my google accounts and it’s not allowing me to set up, same issue with password screen freezing.


I’m not having this issue with my MacBook air, iPhone and iPad, only my MacBook Pro.


Is there a solution to this?

Try the following on your MacBook Pro (MBP):

  • Run the Mail app.
  • Delete your gMail account.
  • From the app's menu bar, select: Mail > Preferences > Accounts
  • Create a new gMail email account by clicking on the "+" button.
  • Choose "Other Mail Account…"
  • At the first screen enter your name, email address, and password.
  • BEFORE clicking on Sign In, hold down the Option key, and then, click on Sign In.
  • You will now have the opportunity to enter both the account type (POP or IMAP) and the Incoming (POP or IMAP) and Outgoing (SMTP) servers used by your email provider.
