Updated Final Cut Pro to 10.4.4. and most of my Waves Audio plugins no longer display their GUI control interface, just a red box. The plugins still work via the sliders in the Inspector window so it doesn't appear to be a 64bit plugin compatibility problem, they just don't display the GUI properly.

You may want to contact the plugin vendor and check for an updated version.
Apple just updated its software. A number of developers have been caught out by the changes; it seems primarily to developers who use custom GUIs in the application.
And peace on earth and good will to all mankind.
And one would hope for advance communication, mutual goodwill and cooperation between all parties.

True. Or perhaps a more parsimonious solution would be for Apple to update its software accordingly and not put to task and annoy its devoted set of audio-visual producers and software collaborators. Clearly a failure in communication that lies with Apple. Let's hope one or the other comes up with a fix.
