Live audio interview needs ambient sound taken out.

I have a live audio interview and I would like to take out the ambient noise, air, etc. Is there a plug-in to use that will help clean up the audio?

Yes there are, the tend to work best on consistent noise. My favorites are Izotope RX (I have 6 but now at 7) and Waves NS1. NS1 is dirt simple to use and RX is a bit more sophisticated and has a range of simple to complicated. Both offer free trials. If you decide on NS1 don't pay more than $29 for it unless you really need it fast. It goes on sale every few weeks.

In either case, the key is to use them gently or you'll start to get artifacts. I actually use both very gently in series. If the noise level is too high compared to the signal, then there's only so much you can do with that. You'll either get rid of the noise but have artifacts or you'll not totally get rid of the noise but just minimize it some.

Good luck.
