Deleting message in icloud for windows without an iphone

I traded in my iphone for an android phone. I backed up my iphone first. I want to downgrade my icloud storage to the free 5 GB level. It still shows I am using 10 GB.

I deleted most of my photos, backup, and everything else I could find, but I cannot delete the saved text messages. How do I delete them? I don't want them in the icloud even if they aren't accessible without an ios device. Does anyone know how?

Thank you!

Hello Yvonne,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you would like to know how to delete Messages in iCloud prior to downgrading your iCloud storage plan. You would need access to an iOS device or Mac that messages are being synced to in order to do so.

To learn more, check out the 'Delete texts and attachments in Messages' section in the following resource:

Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

If you'd like to make a copy of your information stored in iCloud prior to freeing up additional space, here's how:

Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud - Apple Support

Cheers!
