Bizhub C35 Scan to FTP stopped working with Mojave

Hey gang, I just recently updated to Mojave from way earlier version. My Konica Minolta Bizhub C35 where I scan documents and they save onto the main root of my mac in a scan folder stopped working?

I have tried to download an FTP Ap that got them back to talking but as soon as it starts to transmit it errors out????

And if you are going to suggest SMB don't my Bizhub does not have it (sorry it is an older model).

Please help me get my scanner back online.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), iOS 10.1, 10.14.1 Mojave

High Sierra and Mojave removed support for FTP, Apple considers FTP to be too weak from a security point of view and most admins would probably agree. Of course the reality is that most scanners like the Konica-Minolta only support SMB, FTP, or email.

SMB support itself has its own problems, Apple's implementation of SMB is often not compatible with whatever a printer/scanner has.

Arguably the printer/scanner makers are most at fault as most of them have terribly dated software making them incompatible with - in this case Apple who are for security reasons requiring newer standards.

With regards to FTP the modern more secure alternative is SFTP but I have not seen any printer/scanners which support that. So in your case the best option is to install a replacement FTP server application. The simplest solution is this one - https://langui.net/ftp-server/ it does however cost a very small amount $4.99.

A more complex but totally free approach is described here - http://osxdaily.com/2018/08/07/get-install-ftp-mac-os/

Hi there, BillyJoeTimBob!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you’re having an issue with scanning to your Mac and I’m happy to help! I suggest checking out this article with steps to take If you can't print from your Mac or iOS device. While this article is addressing printing issues, the steps would also work for scanning issues, as well as provide you the next steps to take if the issues continue.
Cheers!
