disc stuck in my superdrive

I've used the super drive a number of times. It now has a disc stuck in it. No way to eject it manually. Won't show icon on the desktop so cannot use a computer command. Have spent much time with Apple Support, but they've run out of tricks, suggesting I take it in for service. Thought I'd check once more to see whether there is any wisdom out there.

MacBook Pro, macOS Mojave (10.14.1), MacBook Pro 2015 (bought in 2016)

There ought to be a tiny round hole near one edge of the disc slot. Use a straightened heavy-duty type paper clip to push through it. The end of it will stop when it touches something hard, which is the (physical) release, for when the software won’t eject it, or when its electrical circuit fails. Just push until you’ll feel, hear and see it has released when the disc emerges enough to grab it with thumb + finger to pull it completely out.

HTH!
