Email Confirming 2TB iCloud Storage Scam?

Pretty sure this is a scam. Got an email today that a monthly $19.99 iCloud storage plan payment will be billed each month unless I cancel or downgrade. When I clicked to Cancel or Downgrade it took me to what looked like an apple site to manage my Apple ID account. I started inputting my info. until it asked me for my social #. I stopped and checked accounts directly through my other apple devices and found no scheduled payments and no changes to my iCloud storage plan. I'll be sure to monitor my account to ensure I am not billed this monthly charge. Can anyone confirm?

That's a scam. Apple doesn't ask for the social security number to downgrade a plan and the pricing in the U.S. is $9.99, not $19.99. iCloud storage plans and pricing - Apple Support
