Apple Firewire to thunderbolt adapter not working on MBP 2015?

Hello,

Recently I have purchased Apple's firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter for my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface. However, the system doesn't seem to recognize my device, nothing showed up on audio MIDI setup nor my mix control. It doesn't seem to be the problem of the firewire since the interface works with an MBP 2012 with its own firewire port.

I have tried the PRAM reset suggested in this post Why Apple thunderbolt firewire 800 adapter doesn't work on macbook pro 2015 and still doesn't seem to work.
