can you replace an iphone xr camera lens glass?

My daughter has just dropped her 4 week old iphone xr on the floor and smashed her camera lens glass. I have put every protector on the rest of the phone, screen protector, case but didn't even think about a camera lens protector as have never had this happen before. Phone is perfect apart from this little piece of smashed glass. Can't seem to find any info anywhere about replacing this peice of glass, everyone just goes on abut screens.

Help! I'm panicking that this is now a major repair rather than just a tiny piece of glass!

This damage qualifies as "other damage" in Apple's fees. Apple won't replace just the camera glass, this requires a whole unit replacement.

Why would you pay to replace your daughter’s phone when she “stupidly” allowed it to get broken? Make her pay or not have a phone.

Amen on the parenting. Have 4 now adult children myself. Was on;y wondering because you implied that you were going to have to eat the cost yourself.

I have, i just wanted to have an idea what to prepare myself for :(

There seems to be info online on all iphones apart from the xr! So thought i would ask if anyone knew if it was a quick and not too expensive fix or a complete disaster.

Exact same thing has also happened to me with XR camera lens. Apple said that I am screwed unless I have AppleCare. I can’t find any third parties to do the repair work. This is truly shaking all confidence I have in Apple. I didn’t even drop my phone Just set it down on something. Insane. Wake up Apple!
