Hosting the Logic Pro X sound library on NFS share?

I'm trying to relocate my Logic sound library to an NFS share which directly on my LAN. In Logic, when I click on 'relocate sound library' I can see the mount point listed, but it says 'incompatible file system'. Running Mac OS Mojave 10.14. Why is this not possible?

Macbook (2015 or later)

No worries. As far as I understand, for the automatic library relocation to work, the target drive has to be in Apple format: HFS+ or APFS. What's the format of the WD storage drive itself? Is it possible to format it?

I'm not that familiar with NAS devices, and this is quite unconventional. I suppose, in theory, it should be possible, since these NAS drives are compatible with Time Machine.

You could try to create symbolic links manually: https://www.logicprohelp.com/move-logics-additional-content-secondary-drive/

Anyway, please do update on how it goes, and whether you find a working solution in this case. Cheers!

Thanks. I've bought a small NAS device (WD Mycloud) which I'd like to use for all library and project data, instead of storing everything on my system drive. I just don't want to constantly keep connecting and ejecting something like an external USB HD for this. Would be nice to have something a bit more seamless.

Symlinks should be able link across filesystems though even if the target FS doesn't support this. It's just a pointer file as I understand.
