Cannot login to iCloud on Mac Pro after changing to two-factor authentication.

I have changed to two-factor authentication, but cannot login to iCloud on my Mac Pro (macOS Majave 10.14). After submitting my AppleID and verification code, the login process seems to hang (wheel keeps turning). I have already restarted my system. Everything seems to work fine on my iPad and iPhone.

What can I do now?

Hey wbtmeyg!

I’d be happy to look at your two-factor authentication login issue with you!  I’m happy to see that you’re keeping your data safe and secure.  Since this seems to be occurring only on your Mac, and not on your other devices, let’s follow How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

If you’re still experiencing the same issue in the new user account, I’d recommend that you Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.
