Macbook Air ( 13 inch, 2017 ) Upgrade SSD with Samsung/OWC?

I've a Macbook Air ( 13 inch, 2017 ) with 128gb, which I later on figured wasn't enough.

I researched for the configurable and found out you're able to upgrade to 512gb. And saw that I had two options to go either OWC ssd or Samsung ssd. Now the difference.

OWC will fit without adapter. (480gb)

Samsung needs an adapter. (500gb)

As user who has never updated computers before, I would like to know experience. I heard there's a side effect on this, which is the mac might turn slower. So, either I've to take that risk. Or is apple able to update?

To my knowledge only OWC SSDs have Apple's propriety port - I'd like to see your link to an adaptor that will allow a Samsung SSD to work. I've upgraded several MBA and MBP computers with OWC drives and none have been slower than before the upgrade. In fact, in some cases even the base OWC drive is faster than the drive it replaced.
