com.apple.PowerChime error repeats every 10 seconds

MacBook Pro (mid 2010) - just installed High Sierra (from Sierra where the problem apparently also occurred). This error message appears in the Console Systems.log every 10 seconds: com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.powerchime): Service only ran for 0 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds.

I have no Power Chime on my Mac (just an LED light on the magnetic connector. The LED is working correctly. This has slowed my computer, shortened battery life, and causes high temps in the computer.

I tried turning off the Power Chime with this command: defaults write com.apple.PowerChime ChimeOnAll Hardware -bool false; killall PowerChime

It doesn't work - because I have no Power Chime on my computer?

How do I stop this repeating error message?

Thanks for the reply BDAqua.

I had turned the Mac off and when I turned it on again the PowerChime error was no longer appearing. This happened even though the messages indicated my earlier attempts with the defaults command appeared to fail. However when I disconnected the power cord the error messages started again, every 10 seconds. I then entered the complete defaults 9 suggested by BDAqua. I got the same error message "no such file or directory". The error continued every 10 seconds. I then disconnected the power cord and the error messages went away again. I then reconnected the power cord and after about one hour no error messages have appeared.

When I disconnect the power cord the following message appears in the Console "fud[3239]: objc[3239]: Class MobileAssetUpdater is implemented in both /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileAccessoryUpdater.framework/Support/fud (0x10688bfd0) and /System/Library/AccessoryUpdaterBundles/ApplePowerAccessoryUpdater.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ApplePowerAccessoryUpdater (0x10699aa68). One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined."

It implies there are two ApplePowerAccessoryUpdaters? Is this the potential problem - one works and the other doesn't.
