Apple CarPlay with my Honda stopped working after the 12.1.3 update on my iPhone X. CarPlay does still work with an iPhone 8 and an iPhone XR.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I've attempted without success:

This does work...but be careful. I did a reset in Honda Accord EXL 2018 and had some minor issues. The car came back and asked me for a code a code which I did not have. because of this error, it reset my anti-theft system (didn't work). I ended up phoning the dealership. After a few gymnastics and a quick visit to restore the CAR settings with codes it all work as as expected...car and phone. By the way, the car also did a little self resetting as I drove to the dealership...that was also interesting. All this because of the OS update ;)
