Issues with OpenGL apps on bootCamp MacBook

Hello,

I have a MacBook running windows and I have noticed that OpenGL based application (any QT Quick app that I created, Stellarium...) have a window "positionning" issue.

Painting is done incorrectly shifted toward the top left, while mouse events are at their proper (non shifted) location.

This seems to happen to ALL OpenGL apps that I have tried. This leads me to beleive that there is a problem with the BootCamp Video drivers... But I am not good enough on this to be sure.

Any clues as to how to fix it?

In the 2 pictures above, you can see the problem.

The "graphic" is shifted top left by a little bit. In the first picture, look for the 1/2 cut gray button, on the 2nd picture, look for the 1/2 cut icon set on the top right.

These programs have in common the fact that they are openGL based.

These programs both work properly on other windows 10 computer...

Interestingly enough, mouse interactions happen at the location where the controls are "supposed" to be displayed, as opposed to where they are displayed. So you consistently have to click slightly shifted down/right from where you see a control.

The only case where this seems to happen is on the high res mac running native windows (through bootcamp).

Hello,

I have tried it and it still does not work...

Stellarium is actually a very interesting app to do this test with as they have 2 startup options. One if OpenGL and one is "native" graphics...

Native graphics works well, but openGL does not...

QT based app are also a good test as normal QT apps are native graphics, but QT Quick based apps are openGL accelerated...

In both cases the OpenGL version of very different apps show the same issues, while the non OpenGL versions do not...

sounds like a bug or limitation of intel hd 615 opengl implementation then

maybe not be something they test too much being that intel onboard video cards are not really aimed 3d modeling

if intel video card drivers are just std. in bootcamp or if only some works like with AMD I don't know

but if all work you can attempt various versions to see if some of them works as intended even if I'm unsure of opengl would perform better then native when it comes so non discrete video chips

Hello,

BUT, running the macOS versions of the same applications under macOS DOES work well using OpenGL...

Both stellarium and the CBScope applications (this one developed by myself) work properly under MacOS on the same computer... So, I assume that the problem is NOT HW related, but related to whatever SW layers are located between my code and the HW.

" SW layers are located between my code and the HW."

yes that is the device driver

the program access the operating system, the operating system access the hardwares device driver

and that have the direct hardware contact

intel writes a device driver for macOS and a device driver for Windows

as stated some other versions of intels videocard driver may work and maybe some versions in the future may fix the issue
