Mac App Store Fails to Download Apps

Hello everyone, hopefully someone can help me out.

I just purchased the 2018 MacBook Pro 15'' and I am trying to download some of the apps I am used to using from the App Store. When I click "Get," I get the green "install" button. Once I click "install," a spinning ring appears as usual, but it spins for quite a while. Then, the faded "purchased" button appears. However, no app was ever installed or purchased and when I click the purchased tab in the App Store, nothing appears.

Any thoughts on how to solve this issue?

Hello everyone,

I have received a fix from apple support.

This terminal command seems to do the trick!

Launchpad > Other > Terminal

defaults write com.apple.appstore.commerce Storefront -string "$(defaults read com.apple.appstore.commerce Storefront | sed s/,8/,13/)"

Hit "return"

Quit the App Store and restart your computer and the problem should be solved!

Hopefully this is useful!

Hi Will,

I understand it's important to be able to install content from the App Store and I want to help.

If you open Launchpad, do you see any of the apps you've been trying to install?

Here's how to use Launchpad:

Use Launchpad on your Mac - Apple Support

If these apps don't show there, do they show under past purchases?

Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books from the App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple Books - Apple Support

You also want to make sure you have plenty of available storage space and check for any updates to macOS.

You can find that in the Apple menu () > About This Mac.

Try restarting your Mac and making sure you have a good network connection. Make sure you can reach the web in other apps, like Safari.

Let me know if that helps.
