Genius results can't be updated right now. The network connection was lost.

Hi,

Ive been trying to upload some albums to my iCloud Music library, however it keeps failing and giving me this error. Ive attempted this on both my MacBook Pro (running Mojave) and on my windows 10 desktop, both keep giving this error when attempting to upload songs to my iCloud music library.

On my desktop I've done a clean install of the iTunes app (from the windows store) and can no longer gain access to my iCloud music library albums or playlists as it gives me the error.

There are no problems with my internet connection on either wifi or through ethernet on either of my computers.

Also interesting to note is that this only seems to affect the desktop versions. All of my iOS devices are unaffected.

I'm so glad I saw this thread. I've been trying to troubleshoot this problem all day on 4/6/2019 (and now part of the night). I bought a new iPhone on Friday and was trying to sync everything up and I thought I had done something wrong. Same error message over and over: "Genius results can't be updated right now. The network connection was reset."

REALLY frustrating but glad to know it's not just me. Hopefully Apple will figure out what's going on soon.

Like you lot, same problem - genius results can't be updated, reinstalled everything, on phone to Tech for two hours, totally useless - they said I was the first to report this and would phone back on Wednesday! with other solutions! (reported yesterday Saturday)

In UK - glad I saw this thread. Wondered if it was just me. That box keeps unticking!

Same thing! Something clearly happened on April 06, 2019 and hasn't been fixed yet. That being said, any support team with a pulse would be reporting these types of issues to users, or, at the very least, their own employees? None of the tech support reps I've spoken with have any idea what's goin on.

Dear Apple, you're usually great, but this is some grade A bullshit! Please do ANYTHING about this issue.

Same here... and the crap support is one of the reasons I stopped buying most Apple products years ago. But still I stick with iTunes because that's where my library has been, and I still have my iPad floating around here that I use sometimes.

Looking at my firewall, it looks to me that the servers have an invalid TLS certificate they're trying to pass. I suspect their cert has expired and nobody's fixed it yet... and as typical with Apple it might be weeks before they get to it and then they won't admit they had a problem.

Same problem here on Windows 10 platform. Itunes works fine as a musicplayer on iphone and ipad. It's strictly a genius match trying to upload songs to icloud library issue.

Interestingly enough if you make a purchase from the itunes store it downloads to your library perfectly fine. It's only trying to upload your own material where the genius message occurs. I use uploads to itunes for teaching music education so I need this to work. Network connections on my end and everything else is fine. Definitely a problem on Apple's end. I always look at this type of an

issue as one step closer to try to force consumers into purchasing Apple Music and closing the door on locker room storage of music much like Amazon has done..
