Turned on my iPhone this morning to listen to music, and found that about 50% of the songs in my iTunes library were greyed out with no artwork. I got the error message, "This song is not currently available in your country or region" when I tried to play any of them. No particular pattern, no obvious reason, and many were on music that I burned from my own CDs many years ago.

I get the same message after re-booting the phone, going into airplane mode and everything else I could think of. Any ideas?

Hook your phone back up to the computer that you run iTunes off of and re-sync. Mine had recently been synched properly, and my computer didn't recognize my phone at all. Obviously something buggy in the new 12.2 update, which I didn't even realize had been run on my phone yet (I don't do auto updates for anything). Once the phone has been essentially rebuilt from your archive, everything works fine for all of your music.

In my case all of the songs just disappeared from my iPhone after adding getting apple music. After syncing a lot of music reappeared, but I started having the "not available in your country or region" for songs that are actually original music that was recorded by my kids. It's on my computer but won't go onto my phone. I'm re-synching but if this goes on I may be rethinking my relationship with Apple. NOT the way to do this... Going from most intuitive to least capable.

I wanted to share my experience with this problem.

All my music in itunes library has been ripped from my CD collection purchased in the US

Iphone 7 ios 12.4 - Almost half of 1440 songs are grayed out and i get the warning about not being available in my country.

Ipad Air 2 ios 12.4 - No problems at all. All songs play just fine.

Both devices share the same account.

Could it be device specific and not related to itunes at all?

I have no Solution to share.

Thanks

Apex, apparently your response is considered the answer. What do you mean, you resynched the "entire" phone? You can't just mean synch the music, because I synch my music all the time, and it has no effect. All that I know is that everyday, less, and less music is playable. I am starting to think that this problem is a creation of Apple, so that they can more easily push a paid Apple Music account on us.

Emillio probably tried the solutions. One might have even worked. Still what he is probably asking, or at least what most of the 351 people who had also marked this as a problem want to know, is why in the world would Apple release an update that prevents them from using a staple of its legacy. They don't seem to even test there updates anymore, and instead use users iMacs & iPhones, as there test subjects.

Me too! I’m not at an airport, I’m travelling the world by bicycle and tent. I will not have access to my computer for another 7 years!!! I’d really like to hear some of my 4770 songs that my iPhone 7 running 12.2 is telling me are on here ;((((.

I’ve completed the form Alex posted. I’ll report the response.

Soooo frustrating/annoying

@apexspeed, I completely agree. This obviously wasn't a problem that affected every apple user. There a'e 1.4 billion of them. If it had, then the complaints would be enormous. Like all of there problems nowadays it just affects a very small percentage of users. How in the world would this be possible unless, one: they sell ununiform desktops, & devices, or two: they supply different updates to different users.

How in the world would this be possible unless, one: Apple sells non-uniform desktops, & devices, or two: Apple supplies different updates to different users. This has become a huge problem with them. I'm sure that I agreed to this when I accepted an Apple agreement, but like the fictional Humancentipad from South Park, it is really unprofessional and creepy.
