[10.14.4] Wifi locked SystemUIServer

Sometimes I wake up me Mac, the wireless network is not connected to my iPhone personal hot-spot, so I click the Wi-Fi icon and select my personal hot-spot, then the cursor become waiting state, and the whole top bar become freeze.

I found the SystemUIServer process become Not Responding state via ActivityMonitor, and if I open System Preference > Network > Wi-Fi, the com.apple.preference.network.remoteservice will become Not Responding state, too.

What I have tried:

  1. reset SMC and Parm ----> reproduce
  2. create another network location ----> reproduce
  3. delete some plist files ----> reproduce
  4. create another account and use for few hours ----> reproduce
  5. safe mode ----> can't reproduce since safe mode is very slow and I can't wait for the issue reproduce

My MacOS:

  1. Version 10.14.4 (18E226)
  2. MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)

Here is a temporary fix. Reference: https://www.v2ex.com/t/505737#r_6577477

Open Terminal and input:

sudo kill -9 `ps aux | grep -v grep | grep /usr/libexec/airportd | awk '{print $2}'`

And press return to run.
