Hi! I recently bought the XR and after backing up my photos on iCloud on my previous iphone, I noticed that about 6,000 (of 8,000) photos are missing. The apple worker told me it would take about 24 hours to restore and its been more than 24 hours. I have also been connected to wifi and left it charged because I read online that it was necessary to ensure all photos came back. How can I get my photos back?

How did you backup the photos on iCloud?
Did you make an iCloud backup of your previous iPhone? Or did you enable iCloud Photos and synced the photos to iCloud? Or both? If you have been using iCloud Photos and synced your photos to iCloud Photos check the settings on your new iPhone as described here: Get help with missing photos - Apple Support
Do you have a computer as well? Then open your iCloud webpage www.cloud.com in a browser on your computer, sign in with your AppleID and open the Photos.app there. Are all 8000 photos in iCloud or are you seeing less photos there?
Do you still have the old iPhone and are all 8000 photos still on the iPhone?
