iBridge FaceTime HD | 4: 3 format instead of 16: 9 in OBS Studio and other apps

I have a problem because the webcam built into iMac Pro does not behave as it should. Instead of showing the normal picture format in 16: 9 aspect ratio, it shows 4: 3.

I've already installed the Boot Camp driver update, but it does not do anything, because the camera drivers are from 2006.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

iMac Pro, macOS 10.14

This has

               <ProductManufacturer>Apple Inc.</ProductManufacturer>

                <ProductVersion>6.1.7483</ProductVersion>

                <ProductCode>{FCFFE6B6-BAE8-490E-88D0-097A9DA1C43D}</ProductCode>

which seems to be the latest. It has

 <Name>FaceTime HD Camera
                                <InfName>AppleCamera64.inf</InfName>
                                <Class>Image</Class>
                                <ClassGUID>{6bdd1fc6-810f-11d0-bec7-08002be2092f}</ClassGUID>
                                <CatalogFile>AppleCamera64.cat</CatalogFile>
                                <Provider>"Apple Inc."</Provider>
                                <DriverVer>09/30/2016,6.1.6500.0</DriverVer>
                                <ServiceBinary>AppleCamera.sys</ServiceBinary>
                                <HardwareID></HardwareID>
                                <isX64>yes</isX64>
                        </Name>

You should have the 2016 driver, not the 2006 driver. You should have a .exe file in the Apple Drivers folder on the USB.

This requires a bit of work. You should first create a Windows System Restore point.

You can uninstall the 2006 driver, delete the device, remove the 2006 driver from the DrvStore using pnputil.exe, and then manually install the 2016 driver. If you reboot in the middle, the 2006 driver will come back. The current driver is a generic USB camera driver.

Unfortunately, it failed. When the driver is uninstalled, it automatically installs, which shows me the preview of events from the device. I tried to disable automatic updates in three ways - in hardware, registry and in "gpedit.msc". The driver still installs itself (the one from 2006). Installing this from 2016 unfortunately is overwritten by the one from 2006.

I also made a fresh installation of windows with new bootcamp drivers, but the driver from 2006 is installed there right away. And unfortunately I can not do anything.

But in my opinion this is the problem of camera drivers, which have been prepared for the basic operation of the system itself and its applications. I would like to update the drivers so that all other applications can also use it fully, because it is obviously blocking something.

And when it comes to writing to the application producers, I've done it before and wrote back that it is rather a fault, either a camera or a system error. Also, that is why I have spoken with this here to finally be able to solve the problem in some way.

Nice.

I do not have a problem with the obs program, but with everyone.

Are you saying that

    • you have problems with all other applications except OBS on macOS, or,
    • all applications on macOS work normally, but, on Windows none work correctly?
I tested obs, discord, streamlabs, skype. On any camera does not open in 16: 9 format, only 4: 3.

In both macOS and Windows?

No, the problem only occurs under windows. From the very beginning I am writing about the fact that the problem occurs on the boot camp in windows.

On widnows, only the application from the microsoft works, that is the camera, which is the basic application and it would be difficult to spoil them with the drivers, because they would not have to test it.

However, with the exception of the standard camera does not work in the correct format.

Well, something is wrong and apparently does not fit. Drivers do not install from USB, because the iMac Pro drivers remembers in their cache memory. But I also tried the usb pendrive. Most of the installed drivers are from 2006, and this is not compatible with this iMac Pro, because it was created in 2017. What can I do to install these drivers, because all the time I get different information, but unfortunately nothing helps to solve the problem. New drivers have been released that I can not install at all.
