what You are suggesting is very Apple way of saying. I’m sure everyone has done this. As my previous messages, I have done a lot of experiment with my phone and following up by the adviser, still, the result is nul.. if you could provide some more test or experiment for me to test my phone. I would be happy to hear it. But I’m pretty sure what you are suggesting would be sth I had done in the past...
OK, here's a very simple test. Restore your phone to factory settings and do not restore a backup. Do not add any features, do not log in to your Apple ID or iCloud, and don't create any email accounts. The check your battery performance. If the problem is still present your phone has a hardware problem. Here are the instructions for restoring to factory settings-->Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
Updated to 12.4 and still having the same problems. Set in airplane mode last night and it dropped from 100% to 45% in 7 hours. I've brought it in to be worked on and they say there's nothing wrong. Help
Had anyone been successful with deggie’s suggestion?
Has anyone been successful at any suggestion?
I have tried everything and continue to have the issue.
I continue to be perplexed by the following battery draining problems that are iOS related on my iPhone X:
-Spotlight search either inoperative or functions with errors. My workaround is to leave the App Store open and search and open apps within it instead of Spotlight. Spotlight drains battery.
-Battery function is normal until and unless I open either or both Safari and Mail
There are now thousands of views on this topic. Multiple models of iPhone are affected.
Really, has anyone found a successful fix that actually returns their device to normal functionality?
If so, please say so.
Safe to assume by now that APPLE DOESN'T CARE!
adding on to my post from a week ago where no sort of reboot or setting up iPhone as new worked, even Apple Service Center could't figure out a problem after keeping my phone with them for 2 days.
I spent ~$850 to get my iPhone 8 about 15 months ago and the only solution they have is to get it replaced by paying another $500.... the only reason they can give is that there is an internal hardware problem and phone needs to be replaced.....!!
Seriously???? An iPhone 8 is going to cost me $1300+ which wasn't even its launch price... disgraceful!
I think if you had bothered to read the whole thread you'd have realised that
1) most of us only experienced this problem after we updated the OS
2) even after updating the OS to the latest the problem still persist.
3) the 'solution' of updating to the latest OS hasn't worked for most of us
& 4) the 'solution' of 'replacing our battery' isn't an acceptable solution.
Sounds like a last resort. A phone without all the usual apps is not very useful. Even if the test works, a phone should work without requiring a fresh install. It could help but is it worth the pain? Apple just needs to get their act together!
yes I tried the 12.4 update via ITunes as soon as it was released (specially with the hope to get rid of this matter) The problem still exists. My XR was barely 6 weeks old when I encountered this problem.
Hey you know what? My phone consumed battery even it was off. Went from 100 to 38% while it was off!! This is seriously crazy!! This 12.3.1 just had killed my phone!!!!!!!! Un-fxxking-believable!!! And Apple deny is their fault!! WTH?!!!
so.......I had restored the factory setting without putting back the back up. Did a couple of test as I mentioned before, the battery is still remain the same. And as I had aldy made the appointment with the genius 🍑 bar, and I went. And of cuz, the answer is the same, they do not know what’s wrong with the phone, cuz be hardware and blah blah blah.... eventually, AGAIN!!! I said AGAIN!! “Advise” 🍑 to trade in before the phone turns into a brick!
I mean this is the product, do you have the responsibility to sort out or at least eager to find out what’s wrong?!?! Instead of just telling me 🍑 to “trade in”?!
Really? This is the customer service?!
Many people here are not helping as well but to tell people that they are better than the rest of the world.....level 10 huh?! Well I have been using apple products since Nano, that’s more than a decade I believe....
I think I tackled them all, except playing a song from Apple music... That seemed daft. I already listed a couple in my post as you can see, but I honestly do not believe there are any left except stopping dictation, which I would miss in the car. What I also don't understand why Siri is always on top of the list of battery using apps, when she's completely turned off and not listening...
I am also having the same issue, & i have turned off everything in the background. Apple is slick. This happens every time they do an update. Then they say its your battery so you can spend a $100 to replace it!! And each update takes more and more space on your device! I sm done with Apple!!
Fot my work, I have no choice, it's Apple. Privately it's Android, but I'm a techie and like more control over my personal possessions. The only Apple thing I have (x-mas present boss) is still going strong (as not being updated anymore for years) is my iPad mini of the first gen. Battery life is u believable and speed is sufficient for my use. (Squeezepad)
But you're right there is something almost every update while my Android (old Nexus) keeps getting better by the update and is still being updated. After years of use, my battery is finally on par with my years newer iPhone 7 plus....
Can someone in States make a statement to Apple like last year what they did regarding the battery drainage?!
so that the Apple can face this issue publicly and globally?
my previous message been removed cuz they want to keep me quiet!
this IOS 12.3.1 seriously have better draining issue and they seem playing ostrich strategy .....
level 9, it’s been updated to 12.4.1. My other phone died cuz been updated to 12.3.1. Do you know how upset I’m? And you call that threat? Hey! Mind you tongue. I have done all the troubleshoot that even the genius in the genius bar and the adviser over the phone call me a tech person. I have done far more experiments than all you guys. Experiments that I have done it’s far more than your level 9 knowledge! I have been talking to the adviser every day to monitor my phone and the experiments that I do. And as I expected there is no progress at all. I just simply want to downgrade my phone to 12.3.1 and that’s it. My battery is completely new. It’s only drainage since updated 12.3.1. If you have not have this problem, please. Dun step in.
I have just talking to the advisor based in Australia today. He told me this forum is monitored by third-party. So most likely Apple will not see these messages ....... I had filed a complaint cuz there was a racism speech by a level 10 guy.
