what You are suggesting is very Apple way of saying. I’m sure everyone has done this. As my previous messages, I have done a lot of experiment with my phone and following up by the adviser, still, the result is nul.. if you could provide some more test or experiment for me to test my phone. I would be happy to hear it. But I’m pretty sure what you are suggesting would be sth I had done in the past...

OK, here's a very simple test. Restore your phone to factory settings and do not restore a backup. Do not add any features, do not log in to your Apple ID or iCloud, and don't create any email accounts. The check your battery performance. If the problem is still present your phone has a hardware problem. Here are the instructions for restoring to factory settings-->Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

I have just talking to the advisor based in Australia today. He told me this forum is monitored by third-party. So most likely Apple will not see these messages ....... I had filed a complaint cuz there was a racism speech by a level 10 guy.

Totally, absolutely FALSE. I have met with some of the hosts who monitor the forum. They are all Apple employees based in Austin, Texas. I've even got a photo of the team, which I'm not allowed to share under my NDA. However, the only job of the hosts is to maintain decorum and the terms of use. Nothing posted here gets to Apple's engineering teams.

Regardless if it's only my phone, the problem started literally right after this update. All the troubleshooting and numerous setting changes I made, made it slightly more bearable but it made it also just slightly better than a Nokia 6210 phone...

I have urged my colleague to make the newest update available in our managed environment. Should have been done 2 weeks ago already. Not getting my hopes up though that it will fix this software battery issue. If all similar complaints would have been only on this site, it probably would have added up quite nicely. Maybe you're right and most are lucky, until another update bites them. Have not had this happen on any of my Android phones. Just saying. Thanks for the help though.

I've not had this happen on any of my iPhones, iPads or iPods in 12 years. Just saying. But I have had associates with Android phone who have had it happen with their phones. It's a problem that is very rare, but can happen with any device.

Your reading skills seem to be very poor or it could be your memory.

  1. He isn't a "mod on this site.
  2. People have long posted here that there are hosts of this site who are responsible for decorum (but there aren't a lot of them given the number of people using it.
  3. They don't monitor every post, they generally rely on people to make reports to them. They don't keep track of things to report to Apple.
  4. There are Community Specialists here that respond to posts that go unanswered for about a day. They generally provide links to knowledge base articles. They don't collect data and report back to engineers.
  5. Once in about a blue moon an engineer may look at a thread here regarding a specific problem and may actually contact someone who is posting. But it won't be a thread like this.
  6. Anyone who has read threads here, even the many, many threads on battery life that come up with every update, know there have been more than the 3 options offered that you listed but those three are good suggestions.

Period.

And here we have a perfect example of a level 10 mod insulting and berating a user, which is against the code of conduct, yet his/her post wont get immediately deleted as would every other similar post made by someone like myself.

It's nice to know Apple associates are allowed to and encouraged to treat their customers like garbage.

Thank you for proving my point, and showing my comment was far from an insult, just a statement of fact. I am not a "mod" here just like Lawrence is not a "mod" here. So was it that you could understand that when I wrote it in the other post or you forgot already?

Same is the case with me. Tried all the possible solutions in the last 2 months including visiting Apple service center as my handset still under warranty but no luck so far. I was hopeful of finding some solution through this forum but looks like even that is remote now. All I can do now is to wait and hope that Apple will do something to fix the issue in the future releases.

Firstly. I recently (May this year) had the battery replaced under the deal Apple had for a discount battery replacement. This was done at the Genius Bar. The phone 'almost immediately', ie. I cannot remember it being over 88% capacity, said the maximum capacity was 88% (my take: it is almost new).

Now the battery drain is really bad. Here's what the phone is telling me. As you can see, the battery charge plummets and I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary - maybe making a call etc, the large usage spike at the left of the bar chart was a phone call, the rest of the usage is stuff like news and chrome, ie. a browser - nothing that should KILL the battery at that rate. The large bar at the right shows google and news are the only apps draining the battery. So I basically have to be near a charger now otherwise the battery drain is such that I'm actually getting to the point where the phone is switching off because lack of charge. Surely this isn't normal, ie. if I have news loaded and use google then the battery literally drains at an exponential rate.

Regardless, rather than getting a day of usage I'm getting a few hours. This is getting to the point where the phone is unusable. Although it is clear that I should dump the google app because it is a major culprit, but News? That's gotta be a bad thing if I have to start dumping Apple's own apps because they use up too much battery. Any advice appreciated:

I never for a reason had decided to buy a plus model instead of smaller screens because making the right decision to purchase a plus model was only just it’s satisfactory battery duration and even after experiencing the duration of battery duration was hats off remarkable but since these last 2 or even 3 updates it’s really annoying because of It and now even keeping a worry that it was not the reason to face a thing like this , that of battery duration will ever change such like this , after a update just done , like the last ones got done , even the phone gets warm even it’s not on normal temperature as it used to be on 2 of the sides one is the screen power off button on the right hand side and second is the volume buttons on the left , now will Apple come back up with a resolving of this what I’ve started facing before something worst may god forbid happens to device of mine
