Powerbeats Pro Connection problems

Hi

I have a problem automatically connecting one of the Powerbeats Pro headphones. Sometimes its left one sometimes its the right one. I have iPhone Xs Max so i open powebeats pro case remove left headphone put it on and nothing happens. I remove the right one and put it on and it connects but the left one doesn't. The only way to connect it remove it put it back into the case. Sometimes i need to put back both left and right back to the case and after that it connects. Sometimes i have the problem with the right one. I did a reset but still the problem exist. Anyone has the same problem? looks like its a firmware problem but not sure if there is an update for that.

I have this issue too. Often one of the sides won't connect. Even if I am not near other bluetooth devices. Turning the bluetooth on my iPhone on and off does not help. If you swipe left to see the battery widget only one of the sides shows up.

I have to put them back in the case for a second and then take them out, to get them to work.

I called Apple support today. I spent 45 minutes being handed from front line to 2nd level and then was put on hold (15+ minutes) for a Beats Senior person. I ran out of time as I had to go into a meeting and asked that I be called back in an hour. I was promised this would happen but no call came.

I had the same problem. It’s so upsetting. It was the right one with me. First the case wasn’t charging it. Brought it to Apple. They took it and sent it out. Got them back. They replace the right head phone. Problem cam right back. Really ruined my gym work outs. Finally went back to Apple. They refunded my money. But honestly I wish it just work. Sucks there not reliable. Gonna have to go back to the beats 3. Sad part, I was feening for them when they first was announced.

I am having the same issue as well. I will be watching a movie or listening to audio and the Beats will play a quick tune, disconnect from the device (iPhone 8/iPad), and then deregister from the device. It completely disappears! My case will have a 90% charge, the earbuds will be at 90% charge. My iOS device will be within 3 feet of me so it isn't a distance problem. I typically have my Apple Watch and iPhone near me, and sometimes my iPad. I have only tried to pair the powerbeats to my iPhone and iPad. I did not try to pair the powerbeats with my Watch.

I have to put the powerbeats back in the charging clam shell, open the shell, hold down the pairing button in the clamshell, and tap on Connect on the iOS device. After I do this everything will work fine until the next episode. This happens 2-3 times a week. I purchased the powerbeats in the beginning of July.

I am on the phone with Apple right now as I type and they claim they have never heard of this issue and I can mail them in so they can "diagnose" them. Unless someone is going to wear my powerbeats for a week (or at least a few days) no issue is going to show up.

Update. My phone call was escalated to a senior support person who was very helpful and suggested to first start by verifying the Beats firmware. You need to go to your.beatsbydre.com and download the Beats updater, follow the instructions online, reset the Beats while in the clamshell, then connect the beats to your computer via the lightning cable.

I have updated the firmware to 1E205 and iOS to 12.4 and will monitor to see if issue persists.

That’s the same exact issue that I have!! I sent them to apple twice and they diagnosed it in on hour and didn’t find issues and they sent it back to me claiming no issues were found.

i noticed its happening when I’m around my Ipad or MacBook. But when I’m in the gym with the phone it doesn’t.

they said they are sorry and it must be software issues.

Same thing here. I just decided to return them. I must say that I also had a similar problem with my first generation AirPods but I was hoping the technology would have advanced some more in the last couple of years.

Well lets hope for the Powerbeats pro 3 soon.

The issue happened again after updating firmware and iOS. My Powerbeats Pro were paired to both my iPhone and my iPad, but they were only actively connected to my iPad while I watched Netflix. The clamshell was around 90% charged and earbuds were close to 100%. Note I also have a pair of Powerbeats 3 that were paired to just my iPhone, but they were powered off at the time.

While I was watching Netflix on my iPad, I also had my iPhone on and was actively doing e-mail. I only had one Powerbeats Pro earbud in (right ear) at the time. For whatever reason, I had the clamshell open right next to my iPad, with the left earbud still in the case. The iPad, iPhone, and clamshell were all within close proximity of each other. My Powerbeats played their disconnect tune and no longer were listed as a known Bluetooth device on my iPad. I looked at my iPhone and both the Powerbeats Pro and the Powerbeats 3 devices were no longer known Bluetooth devices. I looked at the clamshell, which was still open next to my iPad, and its front LED was now blinking white like it was trying to pair to a device.

My wife was nearby with her iPad and the Powerbeats Pro showed up on her screen ready to connect. I put my right earbud back in the clamshell, closed the lid, opened it, and proceeded to pair again to my iPad.

I will contact support again.

I also have a connecting problem. It start with one hearpod (powerbeats pro) that indicate 0% batterie level (the right one). This morning I update the powerbeats pro firmware. And now there is NO connection at all. Not even with my iPhone, my iPad, my Macbook pro, and my apple TV. NOTHING. I tried every thing, more than twice. NOTHING work !!! All my device are uptodate !!!

I have this same issue also. Seemingly random I will remove the earphones from the clamshell, place them in my ears and sometimes the left bud (always the left for me) does not connect. I’ve also found the only way to resolve is to put them back in the case and close it for a little while.

I use mine a lot for calls connected to my iphone and only several occasions now people on the other end say I sound ‘robotic’ even though I can hear them fine. Sometimes repairing them in the case with the little button resolves it. Other times I had to just jump on the iPhone and not use the powerbeats. Has anyone had the robotic voice / microphone issue?

Just to add to this. The Beats updater says I already have the latest firmware installed so there is 100% no current firmware fix for what I am seeing. Not very good when multiple people say they have the issue and earphones keep getting returned ‘un-fixed’ as allegedly having no problems.

See my post on Aug 5th ... I bring them back to the Apple Store.  They will send them back to the depot, check them, and suppose to send me back a new pair in 7-10 days.   I will keep you inform.  The tech guy at the Apple Store mention that since there is only few come back, there is no other solution for now, either hardware or software.

Adding my voice so hopefully Apple will see this is real. Love my PBP headset, but customers say I cut in and out during call. Seems to be related to being in same room as phone and MacBook Pro. Can not turn Bluetooth off on MacBook due to BT keyboard and BT touchpad. Don’t have issue when taking calls away from office (when no other BT devices are present)
