At this time the Service Program is limited to 13".
https://support.apple.com/13-inch-macbook-pro-display-backlight-service
however if at any time it is expanded to include your 15", typically Apple will issue a refund for out of pocket expenses for parts & labor... Having a service ticket will be your receipt..."affected by this issue, and you paid to have your display repaired, you can contact Apple about a refund."
In the mean time—

Same problem, I think the Macbook "Pro" costumers should be treated a little better. These machines are over $2,400 and for them to die this quickly is a major problem that Apple should address.
totally agree, shame on you Apple !
I have an 13" MBP 2017 with dark bar at the bottom of the screen too!
I have the same issue! screen stopped working due to cable malfunction. Please Apple help!
This is very disappointing. I have used macs for work and trust the quality of their products. It feels like we have been checked mate here.
After we all buy replacement apple has so much win they will gift us each a new trash can!
I have this same issue. I just paid more than $750 to get my screen replaced on my 15". Apple you have to know that there is an issue not only with the 13" but also with the 15"
I agree!! this is terrible after paying almost $3k for my laptop and they have faulty screens that they won't repair. This is terrible!!
that’s a useful link in this discussion and a good example of people working together on this. thanks
I see comments that after repair people still have same issue year later .
For sure this Is my last Apple product
I think $700, not $600 to fix.
I saw on iFixit, that's what it would cost to buy, if you tried fixing it yourself.
I have it hooked up to a monitor, and can use my trusty 2011 MacBook Air around the house. Of course, the resolution is not that great.
I emailed them.
