Can't select footnotes globally to set the style

How can I select all footnotes at once and set them to the "footnote" style?

Large documents from Word or Scrivener (and others) are imported with footnotes set to "body" style. My dissertation has hundreds and hundreds of footnotes and the font and size is wrong. It is impractical and inexact for me to go in, one-by-one to change the style of each and then modify the style (there will be miss-clicks and incomplete selections, the app will no doubt quit or lock up once or twice during the process, there will be other bugs and glitches etc.)

This has been asked before (especially here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5508268), and there are a handful of forceful replies that miss the point entirely, but I still have not seen an answer.

Interesting. When I compile two pages from Scrivener v3.1.2 into a Word .docx document, Pages v8.1 opens it with all footnotes set to Helvetica Regular 12 pt in the Footnote paragraph style. Creating a new Pages v8.1 document with text, and adding a new footnote does so in Helvetica Neue Regular 11 pt, still using the Footnote paragraph style.

It would seem to me that the approach that I took in the first paragraph would remedy the need to apply any Footnote paragraph style in Pages v8.1, when opening a Scrivener generated .docx — though you may not prefer Helvetica as the default imported font.
