Different from iPhone, calculator isn’t available on iPad in the control center so that I cannot have a quick access to calculator on my iPad, any one knows the reason why and is there a remedy?

If we are going to post/list our favorite calculator apps, I like these.

None of mine are free, though.

I have had Digits Calculator on my iPads since the first 2010 iPad and iOS 5.1.1.

Love Digits calculator.

This one covers a lot of conversion stuff, as well as standard calculator functions.

I get a lot of use out of this one, too.

I tend to like calculator apps that use the calculator tape roll analogy.

AND, just to have and use for both fun and nostalgia and to get a rise out of friends and family.

This is a very good modern re-creation of the old-school loudest and noisy-est electric tape roll adding machines from the 1970’s, with all of the modern calculator functions built into this calculator app!

Chunky, clack-y huge number push buttons, and all!

I JUST LOVE IT! And it looks great on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro!

To the Original Poster,

There are a WHOLE LOTTA third party calculator apps designed for iPad.

Lots of great-looking calculator apps for iPad.

Some even mimic classic pocket calculators from the 1960’s, ‘70’s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s!.

Have fun finding a calculator app you like!

Fine? MichelPM, I hope this has been a discussion, and not an argument. I feel my response to xi1008 was needlessly challenged, and I’ve done my best to respond kindly to all your postings.

Additionally, this might offer an explanation: I’ve had that same calculator available on every iPad I’ve had... Perhaps that means, because it’s there and has always been there — as I’ve recovered my iOS system and downloaded apps with every hardware upgrade — that’s why it shows up as an available Widget? After all, some personally downloaded apps will show up as available Widgets, while others will not.

What matters is The Calculator is available as a Widget, and have we responded to xi1008 with a ‘quick’ remedy? Wouldn’t you agree?

Linda

Okay, I agree.

Yeah,

I will have to agree with Demo.

For the short time you have been here helping out here with other users' iPad issues, you have been doing a pretty bang up job of it!

I am just very nitpicky as I can possibly be about giving accurate details to any user that comes here looking for answers/solutions.

Have always been like that here from day one.

AND, sometimes, I am usually fairly blunt about it and that usually, for me, ends up leading to varying levels of disagreements and arguments.

So, I will apologise, somewhat, as we are all fellow users that come here fairly regularly to help out our fellow users, in distress, here in the ASC, and that is a good thing for all of us here to be doing!

I just always feel the need to be more accurate and elucidate more on a giving issue or problem when I post replies here.

A somewhat failing/character flaw on my part, I suppose, but I usually mean well.

Most times, as wife is always keenly pointing out to me and everyone else we meet, “my bark is always worse than my bite”

Then the calculator widget must be new to iOS 11/12, then.
It is NOT available in iOS 10. I have no calculator widgets at all.

It sounds like there is some perhaps some confusion. Widgets are not the icons in the Control Center. Third party apps have had the ability to add widgets since there have been widgets. Some do, some don't. Third party apps, of course, can't add icons to the Control Center.

If you don't have a Calculator widget, it's because either the calculator app you're using doesn't include one or you have added it.

There you go, xi1008! And thank you...

I, too, had mine in the task bar ‘till I found too many other things I wanted to put there which cluttered it up. So long as you know a Widget is an option — and you’ve got it in your task bar, now — you’re all set! That’s wonderful... Perhaps, as you go along, you’ll investigate and find some Widgets, in one way or another, to be helpful.

As you learn more, possibly, you’ll be contributing suggestions, too — if you subscribe to the feed — for others who are just learning, as yourself. I’m still a newbie, too, and I’m amazed that there are opportunities, here or there, to help in small ways...

I am not looking for, nor need a calculator widget in my notifications panel.

I can get to my calculator apps fairly quickly and all of my calculator apps use a tape roll that will always keep my calculation/tabulation data until I manually clear the numeric tape roll.

The widgets I use in my notifications panel, cover quicker access to my camera/video apps, weather apps, calendars, news apps, recipes apps and music related apps.
