Airpods Always Disconnecting on All Devices

I have my 1st gen airpods about more than 1 year ago and have been using it on my iPhone X, iPad Mini and HP laptop with no issues. Just recently, my airpods always disconnects to these devices after about 1 minutes listening to music. Reconnecting it, only the left unit is functioning and disconnects again after a minute. I have tried resettting it and it works properly for about a minute and the same issue occurs. Tried other suggestions like closing other bluetooth connections of other devices, disabling automatic ear detection, etc but I still encounter the same issue. Note that the batteries are more than 95% charged. The same issue happens to my iPhone X, iPad mini and HP Spectre laptop. Note that the airpod firmware is 6.7.8. Has anybody experiencing the same issue? It's frustrating as I cannot use my airpods. Any suggestions? How can I downgrade the firmware? Hoping for a solution to this. Thank you.

You cannot downgrade the firmware. But you can try resetting it to its factory settings by:

  1. Going into Bluetooth settings on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and forget the device.
  2. Place both of your AirPods in its charging case and leave the case lid open.
  3. Press an hold the button(located at the back of the charging case) for at least 15 seconds. You’ll start seeing the LED indicator flash white.
  4. After 15 seconds, you’ll see the LED indicator flash Amber a couple of times.
  5. After that, you have reset your AirPods to factory settings and you may let go of the button.
  6. Try pairing your airpods to your phone and hopefully this fixes your issue!

If this does not fix the issue, try rebooting your devices and see if that helps. If not, I would take it to the Apple Store and get it checked out. Good luck!

Такаяже проблема fw 6.8.8 отключается левый затем правый. после правый оживает. Это при вызове сири. отключение сири эфекта не дало. Срос эфекта не дал. Help Apple. Сброс телефона и наушников не помог. Даже старичок 6s не может работать с ушами. очень надеюсь что починят.

Some days ago a rather critical post of mine against A.... on this topic was removed with this reason:

'We’ve removed your post AirPods ? NO thanks ! because it contained either feedback or a feature request that was not constructive.' (A.... Support Communities Staff's email to me)

I know these pages are not A....'s official support but one-to-one user support, but if someone from A.... takes the trouble to delete posts they obviously read them ... I hope they are able to give us a solution to this boring problem that makes the AirPods in fact unusable.

And I hope this post won't be deleted quickly either, because then A.... staff won't be constructive.

Thanks.

UPDATE: It seems that they have given up on deleting my post and I see that the protest is increasing here, we hope it gets the attention we deserve. For sure if this matter is not resolved soon my affection for A ... will suffer, I will never buy more expensive accessories made by A ... but some cheaper alternative.

Clear case of sabotage by A****. Thousands of people are experiencing exactly the same issue. This is not an unfortunate side-effect of a firmware update. If A**** really wanted to fix this they would have done so already. Eventually people give up and purchase new Airpods. A**** wins.

Seriously people, the only way I see this being addressed is if there's enough media coverage and pressure from A***** users.

I have the same issue with my first-generation AirPods. It disconnect automatically with every device after few mins. I have tried following

  • Factory resetting
  • Forget/ Remove from Bluetooth device list.
  • Testing with another iPhone or Laptop.
  • Updating the latest ios on mobile.
  • The current version of firmware is 6.8.8

But it's not working. These are just two years old and the issue I'm facing is for the last 1month. I won't but another Airpods.

APPLE PLEASE RESOLVE THE ISSUE

I am facing the exact same issue. Shocker is have 3 pairs of Gen 1 AirPods. ALL 3 of them disconnect (one side dies in a minute of phone/music with any of my Apple devices MacBook/iPad Pro/iPhone)

All the devices are on their latest available firmware.

There is No way I’m going to risk any more money on AirPods Pro or AirPods max

Apple has made out like a thug in this issue. Despite 1500 users posting they have the same issue, there hasn’t been a squeak from the 2 trillion company in Cupertino. I think we must write to all the activist investors in Apple, to correct the course the company is on. Absolute arrogance
