Dolby Vision content displaying distorted since tvOS 12.4 update.

It happens to me also. I recently bought an Apple TV 4K. It happens not only the trailers but in the series on Apple TV +. My tv is also an LG UH850. It is unacceptable and needs fixing ASAP!

Running Beta OS on my apple TV and the bug is still in 13.3. So not sure if this is a backend apple problem or a bug in their latest os..

It was series 1episode 7. Problem occurs at 34:17 and again at 35:20 onward. So bad I had to switch to smart TV.

This clearly can’t be true. Since the Vudu, Netflix,Movies Anywhere and no Disney+ plays Dolby vision just fine on the same Apple TV 4K. So this is an Apple implementation issue.

I saw that there was an issue with DV reported on Macrumours about Apple temporarily pulling DV content, and hoped this had fixed our problem. But not for me; I still have the same issue.

So that pretty much confirms it’s an issue with the Apple TV or it’s software

Was having the same issue on Apple TV+ shows through Roku but just did a Roku update and it’s fixed.

Yes, the iPad Pro plays Dolby vision (Lights up the Dolby vision logo) content with no distortion in my tv with the adapter. The Apple TV however has the distortion problems that other people have.

No. I’m running 13.1.1. I have a ticket in, they think it is a firmware issue but are awaiting confirmation from the engineers.

From your description, I take that it doesn’t depend on a specific title?

In case it matters, what is your brand and model TV on which this is happening? Is it running the latest firmware?

I have exactly the same problem with all Dolby vision content. It particularly happens in dark scenes and is a new issue, never having happened in earlier release of tvOS. I even tried the 13 beta, but still have the same problem

I have this problem also. It seems to happen in dark scenes when playing Dolby Vision movies during dark scenes. I am unable to watch movies I have purchased because of this.

My Tv is a LG UH850V. It has worked OK previously before. So I assume something has updated to cause this issue.

I have raised the issue with Apple support also, just waiting for them to reply.

When watching a Dolby Vision show on the Netflix app, everything appears to work as it should. So something iffy is happening somewhere with Apple content and Dolby Vision.

I updated to TVOS13 a few days ago and was really hopeful it would be one of the fixes. I was so disappointed and can’t believe that with all the testing you would think they do surely how can such a major issue be left in a big OS release. Do none of apples test team watch Dolby Vision movies. I tried calling support and was on hold for 32 minutes before I gave up. I rented Rocket Man last night and had to disable Dolby again.
