I have a MacBook Air OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5

i would like to watch something that I have already purchased from Amazon Prime Video - it advises me to go to my device's App Store and install the Prime Video app. However, I cannot find this app. Instead there is something called 'Friendly Streaming'. When I try to install this, I get a message saying that 'OS X version 10.11 is required'. Is there any way to remedy this? Can I get some sort of upgrade?

Have a look at this, https://www.amazon.co.uk/b/ref=atv_gs_watch-anywhere_b?_encoding=UTF8&ie=UTF8&node=6978701031 note it does not list Macs or other computers.

If you want to upgrade your Macs OS it depends on the Macs model and age. Below is list of OS's that are available to download.

How to upgrade to macOS Mojave - Apple Support

How to upgrade to macOS High Sierra - Apple Support

How to upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Please note that if the App Store recognises your Mac can upgrade to a newer OS than El Capitan it will refuse you the download of El Capitan.

Whichever OS you decide to upgrade to contact the developers of any third party apps you use to check for updates so they will work in the new OS. Also check that any printers/ scanners etc have updated drivers and software for the new OS.

And always always make a full back up of your mac before you go ahead with the upgrade.
