Link to iCloud via BT wifi hub

Have spent the last few days attempting to sync 'photos' data from phone to computer, and not being able to get iCloud email at home but can away from BT wifi. Problem seems to be some reformatting at BT which now sees iCloud as potential issue. Making www.icloud.com specific exception on Parental Control solved part of problem. Then also added both input and output addresses from iCloud email. But still problem with accessing photos and sharing them via Messages or Email - and some photos having exclamation mark in corner to show lower quality. Removing 'File Sharing' filter from BT Parental controls seems to have sorted it. I hope! All very frustrating. BT shown no awareness of problems. What do you do?
