apple card

We’ve been invited to apply for the new Apple Card. The software on the phone does not recognize Military ID with picture. After more than 4 hours on the phone with Apple and Goldman Sachs which is the bank that approves the card we learnt that neither of the two accept Military ID card at this time, or other cards like government card etc. Are we American overseas serving the country been left out for whatever reason? We use Apple product for years but it seems that this is not enough and apparently even if you have the perfect credit score, you have an Apple ID with another Credit card, they identify you 10000 times, they know every step that your SSN takes, but for whatever reason military members are left out if they don’t have a current driving license. Ad is misleading and does not say anything about not even scanning any ID card. Such thing never happened before especially for such big company and should be escalated to the proper channels.

I was told by Goldman Sachs that if your military overseas at an APO address you should use the state side address on your drivers license when applying, since that’s the one they are scanning, and after approval you can go back into the card and change you billing address back to your APO AE address

Thank you Idris Seabright, it was a nightmare and we felt strange. Reading other forums we found out that they only have limited number of cards and the fact that they send you the invitation does not mean you will get it. This is not right. So many contradictions and so many different problems from other users for a big company like that. We are surprised.

Hello, thank you for your response. We also scanned the driving license and the the system said the same thing. So you have a valid driving license with state side address, but physically you’re not there, in the meantime Apple wants your military address and state in the application disclosure from Goldman Sachs says: to be eligible for and account you must:

have an Apple ID associated with an ICloud account that is in good standing and a valid email address.

have an Apple’s two-factor authentication turned on. The funny thing is that if it’s so clear why did it take hours to let us know?

It’s wrong. We will see when they launch the card. Thank you
