MBP A1990 Freezes and restarts when using Facetime

My brand new 15" MBP (Mojave) freezes and restarts when I'm doing a Facetime call. Apple, this is not acceptable on a $4000 machine. When is this issue going to be fixed? An update just got released and I thought that it would solve the problem, but no, it still does the same thing after updating. I just don't get it, please fix it!!!

None of these options make any sense or are logic!! If a Wi-Fi has been used for a long time with problems why should we change to a different Wi-Fi. Plus any given household typically possesses only one network so where do we seek for a different one? Are you kidding me?! Second, why does one need to register a different Apple ID and why the existing one shouldn't work? Are you suggesting that you people favour new over old? Why are you so biased? Or if it's not the case, how would a different user account make any difference if the problem is the app itself? Gosh you people should really provide useful suggestions instead of the lousy ones! Again, it's a $4000 machine and no ones wants to spend that much money on a garbage!

Not to mention, my FaceTime problem with MBP 2019 w/ touchbar is even worse than AJNeves's. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Hi AJNeves,

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with your Mac freezing during a FaceTime call. I'd love to provide a few steps that may help.

First, try a different Wi-Fi network to rule out any network-related issues.

If you're still noticing the freezing during FaceTime, try using safe mode: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.

The next step to take would be try to use FaceTime in another user account. Take a look here for the steps: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

If you're still experiencing the same issue, please reply back with whether or not this happens with all contacts and in all locations.

Take care!
