Can't Add debit card

So, to sum things briefly, I Currently live in Panama, but all of my account stuff in based off of the US.

When I try to add a local debit card, on Panama's Apple website, and also for purchases on Panama, everything goes well until it asks for my phone number.

I do have one, but no matter on what format I put it on, it says its on a wrong format.

The local code for Panama is +507, and it doesn't work. It also doesn't work without it, and everything else in between.

If someone knows about this better than I do, I'd be gadfly thankful for your help.

If all your account information is based in the US, you can't add a Panama debit card or phone number. The credit card and phone number must match the region your account is in.

The only thing I can think of to suggest is to contact iTunes Support. Either use the form or scroll to the bottom of the page in the 2nd link. Follow through the screens to get a chat or telephone option. You may need to pick a problem that is slightly different than yours to get a chat option.

My issue is that I'm not the first to do it. I didn't come along and my family was able to do it just fine proceeding how I was doing it.

Besides, if this come to be the case, why'd Apple allow you to choose the country the debit card is based from? Everything else works and no other fields complains aside from the phone number thing.
