Anyone else experiencing this? I am playing music from the music app and when I try to launch new apps or work in other apps, my phone’s audio output drops a few times before returning to normal. Also, audio sounds much louder in my headphones. At first, I thought this was an improvement but now it is annoying.

Had the same issue, sound cuts in and out I keep having my music go silent but the song keeps playing, even when I press on a song, I had to wait a few seconds for it to start playing.
Just update to IOS 13.6 and the problem has been solved.
Apple should be more careful about updating without observing problems that may cause to several Apple designed apps.
My audio turns off or won’t play, no matter the source. If I turn off the phone and start it again it works but does it again. Hopefully a fix is coming soon. I see this thread is a year old but still running. So frustrating! 😠
I solved most of my problems by replacing the replacement earbuds, which I'd bought through amazon. I still occasionally have the sound cut out in the car if I go over a bump, using the cable that came with the phone to connect to the car's speakers. I wonder if the lightning connector is a big part of the problem.
Tired of this crap I have the iPhone 7 this was happening.. just got the 11 pro and it’s still happening! CMON apple!!!!
It turns out that I had a bad pair of Apple ear buds. I replaced them with new ones. 🤞🏻
