Mickey and Minnie stop talking (saying the time), the "allow watch to speak time" option disappeared

Hi, I have come across some minor watchOS 6 issues, found a couple of work around, wondered if anyone else has struck these or other issues:

  1. Mickey and Minnie stop talking (saying the time), the "allow watch to speak time" option disappeared from sound and haptics watch configuration on iPhone. Any my and my wife's mickey mouse stopped talking, eventually got them working again by restating watch and switching mute and theatre mode on and off.
  2. On activity complication its showing an incorrect move number (way inflated) - its OK on the activity circle and OK once in the activity app but whenever a number appears for move on a watch face complication its way higher.
  3. Initially none of the new watch faces were showing as options on iPhone face gallery, I found restarting the iPhone fixed that.

Further to point 3. - move number on activity compilation too large, turns out that just for compilations it was showing KJ instead of Kcal, even though health app was set to Kcal, was resolved when I set health app to kJ and then back to kcal. Health app has totally changed so needed some exploring.

Thank you Webster603,

It worked for me.

I got also frustrated about mickey and mini not telling me the time. I went to the “Accessibility” on the watch and i turned on “voice over”. Then i went back to the dail. Then i went back to the menu to shut the “voice over off. And then micky and mini were speaking to me when i taped them with ONE finger.

I think it is a Apple Bug. I hope they will fix it in the next update.

On apple watch go to settings. Find Wi-Fi, choose the same wifi network your iPhone is connected too. Go go back to your watch face. Select Mickey or Minnie. They now speak. Tried everything else suggested and this is the only thing that worked. Apple sort of notes this, just not clear about overnight charging of apple watch and same wifi network. The iPhone and apple watch do not live on same wifi network automatically. User has to pick the wifi network for the apple watch individually. I did not have to place watch to charge to get this to work. Just picked same wifi network for the watch as described.

That is SO cool. Thanks for that tip.

I have had both of those settings on since the problem with Mickey/Minnie going 'mute' started (right after the first upgrade to 13.0--iPhone and 6.0--watch). I couldn't get any of the suggested fixes to make my Minnie start talking again. I tried everything except resetting/unpairing the watch. I just refused to do that one--many said it didn't work for them anyway. I knew eventually it would get fixed.

And it did. Yesterday, with the update to 13.1.2--iPhone and 6.1.0--watch, Mickey/Minnie immediately began talking again. The Apple engineers fixed the bug, apparently.

BUT...prior to that happening, I was playing around with my watch, trying to get the rodents to talk again, and I must have placed two fingers on another watch face I have.... because I heard it speak the time! And I thought, what was that? I couldn't believe it... and I couldn't recreate it either, because in trying I only used ONE finger.

Now you've explained it. I'm not crazy!

I love it, too.... now all my watch faces talk to me.
