Playlist Art on iPhone after IOS 13

Hello,

Is anyone else encountering the issue of playlist art not showing the correct album art on the iPhone after updating to IOS 13? Yesterday, I updated my old iPhone X to the new IOS and it messed up the album art on my playlists on my iPhone. I just purchased the iPhone 11 Pro today and I was hoping would the issue wouldn’t be there but it still persists. In fact, it seems to randomly select a covert art for a playlist each time I open the music app. However, when I click on the actually playlist the correct album art is there. I know this is minor issue for some, but it is annoying the crap out of me right now lol.

I’m old school in that I manage all of my music via iTunes on windows and I don’t use the cloud at all. I just prefer to do it this way because I have a ton of music that I imported years ago via CD from back in my high school days. Anyone encountering this issue currently? I’ve tried re-syncing all of the music on my phone several times, uninstalling iTunes on my pc and reinstalling it, and cleaning the cache. I’ve had this happen in the past but can’t remember what I did to fix it. The album art is correct on my pc, and correct once I select a playlist on my phone. It’s just wrong when I’m looking at all of my playlists on my phone.

Best,

iPhone X

I upgraded to 13 and experienced the same. So typically frustrating. My playlist artwork is all corrupted. I can no longer select my playlist at a glance. I think I will have to delete all music on my phone and resync. PIA as I have over 8,000 songs on my phone.

I had this issue. I had to replace the playlist artwork with a new version of the art. The actual track art was fine. I found it wasn’t all of my playlists though and once I had fixed the specific ones the rest sorted themselves out. I have spotted a new odd issue where one or two playlist art would swap to another if you touched the art of the playlist. Again replaced the art on those ones and now all good.

Thanks to all who mentioned CS Music. Just downloaded it and am happy to see my playlist artwork previews correct again. For $2.99, well worth it.

I'm still disgusted Apple's own software does not work on its own hardware. It's months later — and no fix. Ridiculous. Apple's reliability and devotion to their customers used to be their edge up on the competition. Now they're just another player collecting money...

It's really easy and all automatic. Everything from Apple Music just appears (correctly) in CS Music. It was the best $3 I ever spent! It's not really a new platform. It's just a different front-end for the music program, and MAN does it work great! The only thing I have not tried, and not even sure if it can be done, is making changes from CS music to the music database. You might still need the Apple music program or iTunes for that.

I'm experiencing the same issue on an iPhone 11 running iOS 13.2.3, with most of the album artwork incorrect (despite it all being correct on my Mac). This is after deleting all the music off the phone and resyncing a playlist from iTunes on my Mac (I haven't upgraded to Catalina and the separate Music app on my Mac yet.) Before I resynced, the album art was correct (I'd migrated all my data to the new phone from an older one.) Very frustrating, and the artwork is wrong everywhere, not just when viewing Downloaded Music or the synced Playlist. It's also wrong in two other music apps I use on my phone - Ecoute and TunesFlow (which I use specifically for the album art). The same wrong artwork shows up each time I open the app, even after a restart or forced reboot. It seems like a new issue in iOS 13.

CS Music actually works with the Apple Music app — it is not a stand-alone app. It reads the Music library and correctly displays the art. If you play a song in CS Music and then open the Music app, you'll see the song is being played there as well. For me, CS Music's only function is to correctly display artwork. Considering this is a 2.5MB download, it's clear that Apple's reluctance to fix the problem is sheer laziness — or complete disinterest...

I am also having this problem, as is my spouse. We both have iPhone 7's. I will not be upgrading to Catalina for at least a few years, as I will lose access to over $1,000 of older software. Also, I have 1000+ playlists, and will be very angry If I need to correct the cover art manually on all of them. Apple please fix this!

I’ve checked many forums.. Still no response from Apple? We pay for their service to basically share music. The music feature is pretty much the same as Spotify and even Amazon Prime music. I prefer Apple Music but if it’s not working what’s the point? Can we get some support because I’m one of millions experiencing the bullshit glitch that is not being addressed by Apple. And I’m on an iPhone still paying for the service. I’d appreciate if it can be fixed on your end and not a move the force to buy another phone. Eventually I plan to but if it’s forced, than that will effect my trust. I’ll promote whatever I feel. Please fix the issue Apple.

I have an iPhone 11 and iOS 13.3 and the iTunes album artwork on my playlist is shuffled and not displaying correct on the listing screen. When you select a playlist the album artwork is correct in the file it’s just not displaying the correct artwork in the playlist menu. So frustrating!!!! I do not subscribe to Apple Music- I’m sure that’s the fix, right?!? Ugh. Help me please. 😤😭🤯😫

Leaving this forum. Too many postings outlining and confirming that there is a problem with the new phones and OS on multiple levels without any comments from Apple acknowledging issues or a plan to correct. Can’t deal with all of the time consuming daily emails I am getting.

I am also leaving Apple for these reasons.

see you on the other side.

Adios amigos.
