Ever since I downloaded iOS 13 it wont save as a PNG anymore

I’m new to the IOS PRO and I just ran into this issue. I simply air dropped my files to myself from my old phone and it worked with no issue.

I now store all my PNG files in the cloud and they work. HOPEFULLY Apple will fix this problem with the photos app!

I am having the exact same problem! Every transparent png is automatically filled with white background. This wasn’t like this with ios 12. ios13 ruined a lot of things for me and my business. Please fix this apple.

After 2 days speaking with the Apple help desk.  I’m advised to find an App, that will allow viewing, and editing of PNG/ Transparent files.  If you look @ your Camera Roll, go to Photos, decrease the view, you will see any PNG/ Transparent images.  The problem....that’s all u can do!  After selecting a photo, double tap to zoom, you may see the photo has changed from a white background to black.  That said, after importing images into various Apps.  It’s clear, although the transparent images can be identified with a Black background, all files have been converted to JPEG. Images created in various Apps/forward from my personal email eventually convert after Cloud completes its backup.  My solution:  I have backup all photos, removed them from I Cloud backup, and discontinued payment for additional storage.  If Apple is not going to preserve the image format, and or provide means to view, edit, or forward to an App which can handle the original file format.  I have desire in paying for services not received.  Shame on you Apple!  Absolutely hideous!  

It’s February 9th, 2020 and I’m just now running into this problem immediately after updating to IOS 13.3.1, about 4 months since this original complaint was brought up. The fact that Apple hasn’t gotten around to fixing it yet is absurd! Every png image I save onto my device is filed as a png but loses its transparent background whenever I upload it to any photo editing software. It seems these days that Apple spends more times creating problems than they do fixing them. Someday in the near future, their devices will become virtually unusable. It’s pretty **** clear to me now that my next phone will be an Android.

Fix this, Apple!

Yes. I’ve done several tests and it is definitely the size. I’m thinking most people did not read or follow my directions or their png actually has a white background and they’re not aware of it. If you want to post your pngs I can try to help you troubleshoot.

mine works too. I posted here somewhere that some work and some don’t. And it occurred after the update version 14.01 not saying it’s the cause just giving a time frame. Before that it never happened since I started using png (no background) for about 3 years. There is a newer update version I haven’t downloaded yet I will later maybe that will work. Oh and your thinking the image size dimension PX etc.. seems to work if there larger then 400x. I know I can check the size in photo editor and if size too big just adjust the size if it needs too. Correct?

i had this photo in here but I could write on the top couldn’t figure it out. It worked like yours. Now when I went to put the photo back on, it’s now have a background? I promise it was black background meaning transparent?’! Hmmmm interesting but that’s what I’ve been saying... I’m going to re download his photo, see what happens, I can’t use the same one in my album it won’t be transparent.

@Azboyer9, if it’s not too much a trouble and nothing too personal, mind posting your png here? I’ll take a look and see if I can figure out what’s wrong.

It's definitely not Canva a but an ios issue. Only happens on iPhone to me, ipad is fine.

This is only helpful if your editing app supports accessing the files app, the app I’m using to edit doesn’t and it’s ******* me off that Apple have launched a iOS with such a bug , it’s beyond a joke

I am having the same issues. I am now forced to use my computer as opposed to Photoshop Mix. Apple is nothing but money hungry bigots with no care or concern for their customers. They are too caught up in the “next best thing” that they fail to see all the errors they leave in their wake. They have become quite pathetic as they lose sight of what they once were and stood for.

As of a few days ago, I am suddenly having the same issue! I am a professional fine art photographer and I watermark my photos. Suddenly it seems Apple has taken it upon themselves to RUIN my logo files! In addition to watermarking my own photos, I am also a moderator for an Instagram feature page and the logos we use are also being ruined. I am SO sick of Apple and their stupid updates ruining something. This is ridiculous and not acceptable!! Hey Apple, how about you leave things alone?! It is NOT your place to tamper with MY files! It’s quite infuriating that after saving / converting the files from my watermark purchase (from Photologo), Apple is tampering and ruining three within hours! Leave my files alone! Who are the folks at Apple who are behind this garbage?! Whoever it is, they are on crack. Fix this problem, Apple!!
