My monthly challenges have disappeared from the Activity app

My monthly challenge badges since October 2018 have disappeared, and yes, also the current month's progress. Everything else is still there, just those monthly challenges. October 2018 was the month I got my current Apple Watch. If your monthly badges are missing for this year, did you by coincidence get a new Apple Watch in January? I also found this similar thread:

It took almost 24 hours from the time I got my new iphone11pro for most to show up. I also rebooted. I still don’t have any of the monthly challenges for 2019. I’ve completed every single one. It’s pretty disheartening that this is such a mess. What’s on our phones and backed up using iCloud shouldn’t have issues like this. It’s completely illogical.

They just released another update. Can someone update and see if it’s fixed.

I have this same issue. After going through the troubleshooting steps I knew of (like un-pairing the watch, restarting both my phone and watch, then re-pairing), I called their support line and they told me they're aware of the issue, but at this time there is no fix. 😥

There was a similar issue last year with the release of iOS 12, the limited edition badges were missing. Hopefully there's a fix before the end of the month (I was close to reaching my september goal)!

I lost all of my monthly achievement badges for 2019 after switching from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 11pro Max on 9/20/19. I updated the iPhone 7 to iOS 13 on 9/19/19 without any issues. I backed up my phone to the cloud prior to my appointment to pick the new phone. I have a Series 4 watch. I had earned every monthly badge this year & was 7 days away from completing my September challenge to stand 27 times. Nine badges all gone, just like that :(

Transferring your data via the push notification should have still included activity badges etc. They may well follow in time.

Bring it to Apple’s attention by using https://www.apple.com/feedback/ and it may be patched in a future update if necessary.

Literally I noticed this today on my iPhone 8 Plus when I turned it on just out of interest! was gonna post about it tonight. I have achieved my September challenge on that phone but not on my iPhone 11. It’s clear that health data does sync over iCloud so the problem must be with the monthly challenge awards having difficulty syncing.

Are you on an iPhone 11 or older device? I wonder if you restored to iOS 12 then upgraded to the newer version if they’d show up? I had all of mine on an iPhone 10 all the way through the upgrade process. I only lost them when I restore my iPhone 10 and figured I’d start over with a fresh install of the os on the phone.

I had the same issue after setting up my iPhone 11 as new phone. I noticed yesterday that all my challenges had reappeared. I don’t know if it was the new month or yesterday’s update that fixed it. I hope everyone else is as lucky! I have noticed that my October challenge (to walk 271 kms during the month is not progressing.

So, I've had a similar and very bizarre journey with this on my Xs Max and 1st Gen Watch - first my October challenge changed from miles traveled in October to closing rings zero times, which required me to wipe both my phone and watch and start from new (pairing and repairing did not work). That brought back my October challenge from closing all 3 rings zero times to closing all 3 rings 8 times (and ALL of my prior badges and challenge wins). Which brings me to Wednesday the 30th, when suddenly my October challenge disappeared entirely. I had updated to 13.2 2 days prior, and was encouraged reading this thread that today, Nov. 1, everything would reappear. Welp, I'm sorry to say that no, October (which I had met) has not returned from whatever sojourn it's on, and there's nothing for November. When the October challenge changed from miles to 3 ring closure zero times, I opened a support request, and had an Apple technician go through valiant efforts to help me without having to wipe both devices, though that was unsuccessful. If I have to do that again, I'm going to scream, so hopefully someone here has had luck with different steps, settings, or maybe voodoo (I'm not opposed at this point).

I had the same problem. Actually upon switching to iPhone 11, all my awards had gone. Next day though, miraculously all appeared except for the monthly challenges. Now it doesn’t even show this month’s challenge to meet. Before switching to new phone, I backed my old one and restored iPhone 11 from that backup. I also first unpaired Apple Watch from the old phone then paired it with the new phone restoring from the back up. So I did everything that the Apple Support people told you should have done, the monthly challenges still disappeared. Therefore I don’t think the problem is with the watch. It has to be with the new IOS that comes with 11. It looks like as if Apple decided to get rid of monthly challenges with the new IOS. Otherwise it should at least show the December challenge to meet. I do hope they are able to fix it. Because I also enjoyed having them.

I’m having the same issue. So annoying. Have we worked out it’s a problem for people who’ve had two watches recently? I had a replacement watch under warranty in about sept last year, I have all my monthly challengers up to then but not since- I’d done them every month this year so far. All other activities have transferred to new phone and ios13 fine.

i wonder if monthly challenges are more complicated to transfer as they’re personal to you. All the other challenges and goals are standard for everyone, so it’s easier for the app to work out after the fact whether you achieved them or not.

I would like to add my “me too” to this thread. I upgraded my phone from an IPhone 7plus to the iPhone 11 on Tuesday and have the series 3 watch on iOS 13 and I lost all my monthly challenges from Oct 2018 and on and I had every month this year so far. Also all my progress for this months monthly challenge of 13.42km a day are gone too and I would have met that challenge to by end of day tomorrow.

I really hope they come up with a fix soon. Some people work extremely hard to meet those challenges and for it to all go down the drain super frustrating. No matter how many times I restart my devices they just dont come back. 🤬

Same I wasn’t on any of the betas, when I was setting up my iPhone 11 I received a push notification asking me if I wanted to link my watch to the phone so I opted for yes, presuming that it would sync all of the data. I’m not sure if this would have played a role in the challenge data not fully syncing, did anyone else follow the same procedure?
