My monthly challenges have disappeared from the Activity app

All the monthly challenge badges that I have complete so far this year have disappeared, as well as my current month’s progress, and one of the special challenge badges. All my workouts are still showing up though so an Apple store employee directed me here. Has that happened to anyone else? iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 13.

So annoyed, just swapped from my iPhone 8 Plus to iPhone 11, created a backup prior to setting my new phone up to make sure I wouldn’t lose any data and upon setup of my iPhone 11 I have lost all my monthly challenges apart from June and August 2019 (I had every single one) and my September challenge which was near completion is also now gone!! I got my Apple Watch series 4 in December 2018. Ive also noticed upon comparison with my iPhone 8 Plus that some of the ‘workout’ badges display different ‘bests’ (the record is shown for differing amounts of calories on my new device, almost as though not all my workouts synced properly, further, both phones display different amount of move goal (200%, 300% and 400%) badges. I’m very confused and annoyed and I hope this gets fixed as I loved the awards page!!!!

I had the same issue after setting up my iPhone 11 as new phone. I noticed yesterday that all my challenges had reappeared. I don’t know if it was the new month or yesterday’s update that fixed it. I hope everyone else is as lucky! I have noticed that my October challenge (to walk 271 kms during the month is not progressing.

Oh ugh noooo! It’s always a panic when I get a new watch or phone. I’m waiting for my iPhone 11pro to arrive and suddenly I’ve lost 9 months yes 9 months of activity data. I was as a almost 1,300 move streak and it’s dropped to 958. Hubby rolled his eyes but this is important stuff to me. I have every single special award except the one from China. The weekly awards are on the correct day but the circles aren’t filled in for an entire section of 9 months. The awards are still there so far which is puzzling. Hey Apple I’ve been known to run laps in airports, found gyms that I can’t believe I’ve actually gone into to accomplish this. Please help us.

Hope this all works out. Hang in there everyone and keep circling those rings. Last time there was a glitch it took months to get Apple to correct it.

Lbabygirlrun: Weird things like that happened last week when I set up my iPhone 11 too. It seemed to take a few hours for activity data to sync into new phone. if it hasn’t sorted itself out by now, do you still have your old phone (with activity data on it? If so, I would unpair watch from new phone, repair to old phone do a manual iCloud back-up then try the whole process again. Do be aware, however that doing this in the middle of a day can muck up that day’s data. try to do this either after you complete your rings for the day or before you start. Hope you retrieve your info! Good Luck

I don’t really know the answer I went through so many restores trying to get stuff back I finally gave up and accepted what they gave me. This is the most frustrated I’ve ever been with an Apple product and update. For something they use to promote a product like the badges and closing rings I think they should do a better job of making sure the stuff syncs over many scenarios. I will say that finally things some things showed up after a bit. But I still lost a bunch.

Oh gosh I feel for you. All my monthly challenge awards are viewable. I did look like some things took over a day to appear. I still have 7-8 months of completely blank data with the awards still showing. Figure out that one lol. My streak changed too. Ugh hang in there and see if they don’t appear. Try going back to the months where you know something was earned and see if they appear at the bottom of that particular page where you see them when they first appear. Like January for the ring in the new year challenge or thanksgiving etc.

Oh, apparently it’s gonna be the lot of all the new owners then. Try un pairing and repairing, that had brought my competition badges back. And then if the challenges badges don’t come back at that point you’re going to have to wait for November 1st with the new monthly challenge and then the everything’s gonna come back.

For the October’s challenge it’s gonna be trickier because personally I believe that I crushed my September challenge... and still received nothing! Other users did get their challenge badge, so it’s out of your hands for this one.

Best if luck anyway! ;)

I have the same problem. After switching from iPhone Xs to 11 pro and upgrading from a series 3 watch to a series 5, the monthly challenges from October 2018 up to including this month is gone. Everything else seems to be there, except I went for a short walk yesterday and it suddenly displays that walk as a record.

I called support and they had never heard about the issue. Gave me an advice to re sync and I’ve tried. Extreme measures and no result. “If that didn’t help, all is lost”

One of the reasons I’ve liked Apple is that everything is backed up. If I knew this would be the case I wouldn’t have bought new equipment. I’ve spent a lot of effort on earning them and had to deal with many complaints from the wife due to spending all this time, running in the evenings after work.

Totally get where you are with this as I felt the same way! Mine reappeared on 1st October and suspect yours will do the same when you are issued the challenge for the new month.

Like you I had earned them all and often incurred the wrath of “her indoors” by going out of my way to achieve them. In the end I missed the (then current month) of September, as it was no longer possible to view progress and it was a difficult challenge. This was frustrating, but in the end I made my peace with it. If I’d lost the lot I would have been a lot more miffed!

It took almost 24 hours from the time I got my new iphone11pro for most to show up. I also rebooted. I still don’t have any of the monthly challenges for 2019. I’ve completed every single one. It’s pretty disheartening that this is such a mess. What’s on our phones and backed up using iCloud shouldn’t have issues like this. It’s completely illogical.

Exactly the same on my new 11 pro and my wife's 11. Took 2 days for activity to show up and it's still reporting incorrectly. I had 1432 consecutive move goals complete. Now showing 1149. We both have monthly challenges showing up to September 2018 and nothing further. Just sitting here hoping that soon everything will magically reappear!

It happened to me too on my new iPhone 11. Everything came back on the start of the new month. Unfortunately that was 10 days from the time I transferred everything. I had to manually keep track of my monthly goal as to make sure I hit it but all my badges came back on Oct 1st with my new monthly challenge as well as the badge for Sept 2018 and on. They will come back just not until Nov 1st. Unless they get a fix before then.

So, I've had a similar and very bizarre journey with this on my Xs Max and 1st Gen Watch - first my October challenge changed from miles traveled in October to closing rings zero times, which required me to wipe both my phone and watch and start from new (pairing and repairing did not work). That brought back my October challenge from closing all 3 rings zero times to closing all 3 rings 8 times (and ALL of my prior badges and challenge wins). Which brings me to Wednesday the 30th, when suddenly my October challenge disappeared entirely. I had updated to 13.2 2 days prior, and was encouraged reading this thread that today, Nov. 1, everything would reappear. Welp, I'm sorry to say that no, October (which I had met) has not returned from whatever sojourn it's on, and there's nothing for November. When the October challenge changed from miles to 3 ring closure zero times, I opened a support request, and had an Apple technician go through valiant efforts to help me without having to wipe both devices, though that was unsuccessful. If I have to do that again, I'm going to scream, so hopefully someone here has had luck with different steps, settings, or maybe voodoo (I'm not opposed at this point).
