My monthly challenges have disappeared from the Activity app

Your comment shows as solved. Did they fix it for you? I’m super frustrated because I lost my monthly challenges. What’s even worse is they were still showing on the actual watch and just not the phone until Apple did troubleshooting. Now they’re gone from the phone and the watch.

No it’s not solved! Still with the problem, how do yours show up on your watch? I’ve tried all the troubleshooting techniques and non of them have worked, Apple needs to make some software update for this as there’s a large number of people seemingly affected!

Just wanted to add myself as a “me too” on this thread. I’ve raised the issue with support, but they were totally unaware of the issue!

I’ve lost all badges from October last year onwards which for me was all of them! I had good progress this month on a difficult challenge of walking 143 miles in the month, so even if this were to reappear today I’d have no chance of earning it... a real shame this as I’ve loved going for these and it’s a real incentive.

I wouldn’t like to think what would happen for example if a load of Xbox users lost years of achievements... its the same thing in fairness and there’d be **** to pay!

Also wanted to add that I’m a two watch user.

One for best and one for working round the house, sport and sleep tracking.

I use them both daily so they both contribute to my goals/rings with auto switch. Surely that rules out the transition to a new watch as being responsible?

I only use one watch (Series 4 since December 2018) and all my monthly challenges have gone apart from June and August. As well, some of my move, stand and exercise goals have been lost as both phones display different numbers! Very weird and annoying.

My only positive feeling about all of this is that it’s not just me that it’s happened to! If it was I’d think I’m just bang out of luck!

The fact that it is quite widespread gives me hope that they’ll fix it - who knows!

Same here it seems to be a big problem, although it amazes me that when I speak to the Apple support assistants they seem clueless about the problem so I hope word spreads quickly to the technical teams! Another weird thing that I found was that the monthly award for July 2019 shows up on the day that it was awarded, yet it doesn’t show up on the main awards page!

Did it restore all you activity information from the day you you initially did the first back up and install as well as keep the current activity that you accumulated on the new device. I just don’t want to lose the last 3 or 4 days of daily activity either.

I had not reset my old phone. I didn't want to do that until I knew I had everything on my new device.

I will say that in your instance it seems like you would lose the data from the time you did your last backup until now.

I’d imagine you’ll be on the minority with that situation.

I assumed all this data... along with the health app all got synced to the cloud constantly.

I never imagined it was stored so locally and reliant on local backups etc to carry over!?

Sadly not me! I made the same assumption as SILVAFOXX and thought it was all in the cloud. In addition, I did wait to wipe my old phone but as it looked like all the activity data was slowly appearing I thought it was safe to do so. Lesson learned.

Also to mention to save anyone time - I happened to have my old phone and watch still so I put old backups on those and then tried to follow FiremanJig’s solution, but no luck. It seems like as the backup hasn’t got the challenge data in there, it doesn’t resurface if you try to go back to the setup you had before.

Still annoyed, like others I had every challenge this year so far. But I can’t see any chance of getting it back so just have to move on.

I’m amazed at this “locally stored” data situation. Particularly as at one point I saw the activity app with a download progression bar at the bottom!

This suggested to me that it was cloud synced?

Anyway this is very disappointing for us all 🙄

I was on the phone with them yesterday and they took screenshots and stuff from me to send to the engineers. What they don’t seem to be understanding is why all of my history is still showing and all other awards just not the monthly challenges. So I’m not getting my hopes up. :(

Exactly it seemed like the best option! And due to Apple offering the process you would have thought it would be fine to follow through with it! Who knew you had to do all the disconnecting and backing up with iTunes before hand, that’s not made clear at all!!
