contacts no longer sync with BMW iDrive IOS13
I updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 13 and now my BMW iDrive can't access the contacts. Anyone know what's going on?

I have the same problem with my BMW. It is since IOS 13.1.2. I never had a problem with BMW and Iphone for 12 years.
The contact list is not complete synchronised since IOS 13.1.2 and they did not solve the problem with IOS 13.1.3
It is even worse.
I am having the same issue with my x5
shame this has happened as I make many a call whilst driving
what an embarrassment for Apple and I am pretty sure very soon Apple will know how many bmws are on the road with unhappy iPhone owners
come on Apple. Pull your finger out. And fix Apple.

I have already tried to remove the pairing. Both in the car and on the phone. First connection it works once. But stopping the car and connect again and the problem starts. All the following rides the contact sync keeps failing.
Same issue here. I work for a BMW dealer as a Genius. 2018 640GT, iPhone XS; iOS 13.1.3. Contact loading is inconsistent when starting the vehicle. Temp workaround: Try going to Manage Mobile Devices>Disconnect (not delete) device; then “reconnect”. That seems to reload the contacts properly MOST of the time. iOS 13 caused it. Remains to be seen whether Apple will correct, or whether a BMW iDrive update will come along. IF you have a pre 2019 vehicle, (not iDrive 7) You can go to BMW.com/update to see if there’s a software update is available for your vehicle. So far, there’s nothing new that I see, however. iDrive 7 go to Apps>push the option button>update apps and services. But again, I don’t believe there’s a fix as of now. BTW, If you’re using Apple CarPlay, everything works fine.
Thanks. Tried the disconnect, reconnect as well as completely repairing - neither worked. I hope BMW comes to the rescue of their owners even though I don’t fault them, because Apple doesn’t seem too interested in fixing what they broke and that is VERY DISAPPOINTING
I now even sometimes see the wrong name linked to a number.
Apple seems to have fallen asleep… iOS 13 was quickly followed by a few fixes, but now they're silent.
This bug is really annoying. Is Apple ever confirming issues here on the forum or do they just ignore their customers ?
Apple are gone sick. Now it doesn’t sync with the watch as well. The contacts sync. Give up as of it never existed. Actually I sync perfectly well on the Garmin . Next get a phone call, stay away from WiFi equipment. It drowns the sound. What **** has Apple made ?
13.2 It did NOT solve the issue with an Alfa Romeo Stelvio! Exact same issue: tried everything, it syncs once and than the trouble starts, no sync, no voice control. Consequences are dangerous driving.
APPLE PLEASE SOLVE THIS ISSUE!!
If you haven’t already, see if there’s an update for your vehicle, at BMW.com/update. Follow the instructions to download the update onto a usb flash drive, then upload to the vehicle. Other than that, not sure what to suggest, other than maybe try pairing another iPhone with the vehicle to see if contacts will load using that other phone.
Yes, I drive a 2018 Mercedes, I've had this fault ever since I updated to iOS 13. I've changed from an iPhone X to an iPhone 11 Pro and done all the iOS updates along the way. I still ahve exactly the same fault as BMW drivers.
Well initially I had that fault with my iPhone 10XHS . It got sorter with apples latest release. But on BMW if using phone with ignition on acc and using Bluetooth the cars battery goes flat in 5 Minutes. It’s happened more than once and had to get a booster. Battery when driving charges at 14.4 volts but with Bluetooth on and ignition off drops to 8 volts.
Worked it out. I deleted my iphone from the car's iDrive, delteted the car from the phone, rebooted the phone and re-paired it with the car.
Was it really permanent solution for you? Because when I reconnected the phone the contacts synced once. But with the next ride the contacts did not synchronized again.
I found this youtube video about the same issue:
I meant an update to iOS 13.1 didn't solve it.
