Mixed up album art in iTunes after ios 13.1 upgrade

I had the same annoying problem, but was able to fix it relatively painlessly using iTunes as follows:
Good luck!
Yes I agree when are Apple going to do something about this, it’s shoddy and annoying to see all the artwork mixed up. I was on the phone to Apple support for over a week and after engineers investigating the head of support trying to fix it nobody could do anything. I’ve tried everything myself re-syncing several times deleting the Music app putting it back on again and none of this works. I was on the phone to Apple support for over a week and after engineers investigating and the head of support trying to fix it nobody could solve it. They told me to wait for a fix and keep doing regular updates all of which I’ve done. I’ve tried everything myself sinking rethinking several times deleting the music app putting it back on again nothing works. Come on Apple fix it!!
Upgraded my iphone R to ios 13, all of my music is imported from CDs.
Everything fine until started importing new CDs.
Now everything gets the same artwork from the same 2 albums.
Have > 18 G of music and would rather not delete and reimport.
Also occasionally getting albums locked for "not available in region" nonsense. Only cure is delete and re-import.
Very disappointed in Apple's quality and response on this.
Having the same problem with mixed-up playlist artwork in the Library view on my iPad Pro since upgrading to iOS 13.
I’m syncing to iTunes 12.7.3 on my old 2011 iMac running Sierra. Wary of upgrading my Mac OS any future due to its age.
I have a hunch that Apple isn’t overly concerned with backwards compatibility for machines as old as mine. I guess 9 years is a good run for a computer, maybe this is just a harbinger of coming issues that’ll force me to pony up for a new rig.
The latest updates still haven’t fixed my Album Art Issues, I’m running Catalina 10.15.3 on my Mac, iPad OS 13.3.1 on my iPad Pro 3rd Gen, and IOS 13.3.1 on my iPhone 11Pro Max. I have over 29K songs on all my devices, and at least a third of the album artwork is missing on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. I don’t subscribe Apple Music. These are songs I bought from iTunes and ones put on my devices. Some of the album art is not only missing on my iPhone, some of the album art is also mixed up on various albums and playlists. In other words the wrong album art is displayed on some of the albums and playlists, only on the iPhone. I see that some of you said that the latest updates fixed your album art issues. Is it something else I need to do other than syncing my devices to the Mac? I’m beyond frustrated with Apple, because I made several trips to the Genius Bar, talked to various techs and engineers online and by phone, and sent two emails to Mr. Cook over the course of four months regarding these issues. I feel that Apple should do more to address these annoying issues, because for the amount of money Apple demands for their premium products, we in return demand premium service. I believe if Mr. Jobs were here, he would crack the whip or heads would roll.
I am having the same issue. Using a 2011 MacBook Pro with OS 10.13.6 and iPhone 11 with iOS 13.3.1. I keep a playlist of 16,000 songs and it just synched all of them with incorrect artwork. My computer cannot upgrade to Catalina, and the unsynch/resynch didn’t work. Can’t believe this has been an issue for 6 months with no fix.
Look, if you have Apple Music, you are screwed when it comes to album artwork. It posts a lot of incorrect album artwork. A true pain in the ***. So I quit it. But if you just have iTunes on your computer and Music on your phone and iPad it now seems to be working quite well.
I don’t have Apple Music and I have turned it off on my iPhone in the music settings. All my music is stored in iTunes on my MacBook Pro and I still have this problem as of yesterday. The erase, re-synch solution that the Apple Staff recommended earlier in the thread has not helped at all.
Unfortunately not true in my case, I don’t subscribe to Apple Music and a lot of artwork is mixed up in my music library and playlist on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, and I have over 30K songs. I’m also missing about a third of my album artwork on the iPhone as well as my iPad Pro 3rd Gen, and my MacBook Pro running all the latest iOS and OS versions. Apple needs to get it together and fix these issues, instead of coming out with new emojis!!!
That's great if you auto-sync. I have way too much music in iTunes for this to work. How could this be done for those of us who manually add our music to our iPhone/iPad, etc? This is starting to border on the ridiculous for how long this has gone on!
I just wanted to say thank you for that advised process. That fixed the issue for me, and I highly suggest others give it a try.
My issue started when I upgraded from iPhone 10 to 11 (I set both next to each other and let the new one mirror the old using the automated setup). When I went to setup my iCloud (b/c the health data for my Apple Watch didn't transfer correctly), that is when I started having trouble with the album artwork.
I have subsequently gone back and added more music to iTunes and added it successfully to my iPhone.
Thank you, Heydude!
iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 13.4.1 connecting to Windows computer
I have the exact same issue on my iPhone
After installing 13.1.3 on my iPad mini 4, my playlists artwork on the opening screen is all jumbled. Apple support were not able to fix it to date. Wish I had never downloaded this update.
Apple sort this issue out! It has been months without a fix or update to OS.
What are you doing about it??????
Doesn’t work for me on my iPad mini
I followed the steps exactly as you wrote them, but still didn't work.
