Updated to ios13 and now 13.1 but when importing pictures to windows 10 the photos app launches, scans the phone, comes up with how many items there are on the phone and then just sits there.
Tried refreshing the app on windows and also on another win 10 machine but no change.
Also Tried different USB port.

I have no problems since going to Settings. Then scroll to Photos then scroll to down to the end To ‘Transfer to Mac or PC’ make sure ‘ Keep originals’ is ticked NOT automatic.
I can't import the photos from my new Iphone 11 Pro Max to Windows 10 either :(
I have tried all the so called fixes. Simply doesn't work.
The transfer starts and then after a few photos it just stops and i get an error message: "Something went wrong"
Or when I try to copy via Explorer: The Device is unreachable" even though i see the DCIM Folder.
Any help is welcome
I've had the same problem sine updating. I'm now on 13.2.3. I does occasionally work, can't figure out why but 98 times out of 100 it doesn't. Frustrating.
Worked for me - many thanks! But alas, didnt work for my wife's phone, and she also has an XR running 13.3.1. Will try again another night perhaps
Only difference in settings between my wife's phone and mine was she had smart HDR on. Turned that off and tried again. Still no luck unfortunately. Just gets stuck,

Mostly I found that it cause by *.MOV file... if delete them, import is smooth....
u can download third parties app to get back your movie.... I tried iMyFone app is helpful...
it has free for download each by each, if pay, it can multiple get the photo and movie
on your iOS device go to
-settings
-photos
-scroll down and choose keep original
-try again
-good luck
After the latest software update, I tried importing via the old Window Photo Gallery app, and it worked!!! give it a crack
