iPhone 11 screen scratches

I’m so glad it’s not just me! I’ve never scratched the screen glass before on an iPhone but my 11Pro was scratched within 24 hours. I assume It happened while in my pocket as it didn’t dropped or had anything placed on it. Not a huge deal but very disappointing as my 6S, bought at launch, still doesn’t have a scratch like this.

I dont have an issue with the front screen but the back glass on the corners are already scratched. Only thing i can think of is putting the phone in and out of my pocket cause these scratches somehow. There werent any keys or other objects, guess it could be my jeans scratching them. I have an iphone 11 - base model.

I was pretty surprised to find two deep scratches on my iPhone 11 Pro. I literally only take it in and out of my pocket. Disappointed- I’ve not had huge gashes like this on other iPhones after only a few days of use...

I have a small scratch that’s almost identical! Had the phone less than 2 weeks and this occurred. Never dropped, never in purse, kept in pocket without keys. And no one will do anything unless I want to pay out of pocket to have screen replaced. I had the iPhone 7 Plus for 3 years with no screen protector on it without a single scratch phone was immaculate when I traded it in. Now I get this. I’m angered.

After cancelling my order I called Apple.

1st sales person told me to buy a screen protector too. I said no thanks.

2nd support agent said if I buy online I have 2 weeks to exchange. 2weeks coverage is not with the risk for €1449. I will wait and see.

It’s not just the phones, watch 5 has the same problem. I have a first gen aluminum watch, (between the 0 and the real series 1) that I have abused the #&@@ out of including wrenching on cars and the glass is flawless. I just got an aluminum series 5 and less than 24 hours old, less than 12 hours of wear under the cotton knit cuff of my hoodie after a grueling 10 hour day sitting behind a desk with absolutely no impact or scuff type incidents I can recall there is a mm long scratch on the face I can catch with my fingernail. Getting the impression the initial supply of glass isn’t ready for prime time.

I have the same problem, little scratches. I am extremely careful with my iPhone, had a 6S for 5 years without any scratches, and with this new very expensive iPhone11 pro within 2 days. Apple store said it was my own fold, but that is a little hard to prove it isn't ... disappointed anyway.

I have the same problem... I buyed my new Iphone 11 Pro in Germany at the Apple Store. It´s so frustrating. Support said its my own fault. Can´t believe to pay 1549 € on a new Iphone and it look after three days careful useage like my Iphone 5 seven years later.

Apple! You need to do something here!

Just can’t believe that it scratches so easily just by keeping it in the pocket. Everything else is awesome on this phone and just this flaw ruins everything. For the first time from buying the iPhone 5 I’m compelled to use a screen guard.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max (Midnight Green) just arrived and I checked it very carefully because I saw this thread a few days ago. When I unboxed it I saw dust on the glossy camera housing and wiped it away with a clean microfibre cloth. Then I turned on the flashlight on my old iPhone and I already saw some micro scratches on the camera bump. Definitely going to return this sh*t. I am even afraid of removing the screenprotector that is applied ...

Yea thank god I got apple care+ my issue is just the back of the phone. Feels like by just putting the case one/off it scratches... hopefully there is enough issues for a fix. My iPhone XR Has NO micro scratches NONE whatsoever and I use my xr naked.

You should never use the screen of a phone without screen protector. You invested a lot of money into this product so you need to take good care of it. However, it shouldn’t be scratched even if you have had inside your pockets. I remember back in 2012 that the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen was extremely resistant from key scratches.

Observant but incorrect Sergekills. The edge of the case you are referring to was done intentionally to the case only, before installing the case on the phone to provide some grip to an otherwise extremely slick case.

I've had my phone for a good solid week now. The cheap screen protector I bought broke(caught an edge of my pocket), so today was the first day it was without a screen protector. I took it out of my pocket after lunch and sure enough, there was a very new and very disturbing gouge in the glass. The only thing in my pocket was my airpods. Not happy. And it now won't take to ANY screen protector. What a purchase.

Yes! I have a deep gouge in my screen after 1 day and I can't think of any specific incident that would have caused it. I just got a screen protector and upon applying noticed tons of smaller scratches. I haven't even had it for a week!
