iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to write my story on this if it weren’t true..KEYS DO scratch the iPhone 11pro. The screen is weak as my question is how did you get Apple to replace it for free? I refuse to pay any deductible to replace anything because it’s 2020 an iphone screen should not be scratched by simply putting it in your pocket with a set of keys...that’s absurd.

I considered purchasing a new iPhone 11 Pro Max until I brought this issue up to the sales reps at two different apple stores. I could actually see a couple of display units with scratches on the front glass. My intelligence was insulted when both sales people told me to get a screen protector. I haven't used a screen protector on any iPhone "ever" and have never had this problem. Apple should go back to the previous glass used on iPhones 8 and before. Like the crappy keyboard on the prior MacBook Pro, I think this new iPhone glass is not up to specs for an elite/quality product and should be removed from your inventory.

Funny you should say that. I had one of the new design keyboard when they first changed it. Apple replaced the keyboard at least 3 times of not four then offered a new replacement computer after three years when my warranty ran out. They did the right thing then but are refusing to do the right thing now with the scratched glass. it’s disappointing. Reporting it to consumer affairs though.

Seems to be a lack of common sense and scientific method in this thread.

You should be looking for correlations.

When and where was your phone made?

Look here and post, maybe you'll find a commonality: https://en.tab-tv.com/?p=18929

Do not go to a decoder website and type in your serial number, most of those sites want to harvest your serial number for nasty things. Decode it yourself. DO NOT POST YOUR SERIAL NUMBER.

According to the chart, my Phone was made in China, Chengdu at at Foxconn plant in September of 2019. It is tough as nails with no scratches.

Complaining and whining here is not productive, nobody here represents Apple and you might as well find some evidence since you're here smashing your keyboards anyway.

Seems like you're all here to complain rather than be proactive. Nobody wants to take three minutes to help themselves?

Agree. Worst screen ever. I bought a new 11 Pro, opened the box at home, set up at home, never took it out. Then I immediately went to Apple to have a screen protector put on and they said it has 2 small marks - almost like a pin dot chips in the glass only visible in certain light. I took it back to the carrier where I bought it and they would not exchange so back to Apple and had the protector put on. It is not visible with the protector on. I dislike cases and protectors all previous phones never did this and I roughed those phones. But the iPhone 11 series is not tough glass and Apple should step and live by their advertising.

I’ve had the same issue. 6 months on and my screen looks worse than my 3 year old hand me down iPhone X. Went into Apple Birmingham today and they weren’t interested. Manager was dismissive - they put it down to wear and tear and state not covered by warranty as it’s cosmetic. Not impressed so will contact local trading standards to see what they say - this forum is 155 pages deep so lots of disgruntled customers out there.

What is your purpose in posting in this thread? You are doing the same thing in the macbook pro thread. You're disrupting these threads for the sake of creating arguments, derailing and frustrating other people.

I have four iPhone 11's in front of me with two that exhibit the issue of a softer glass. The other two are what I would expect. The two that scratch easily were manufactured the same week in the same plant/production line. The unaffected phones were manufactured two months apart at separate plants.

That's not polling. I've seen several serial numbers edited by admins here that leave the same information.

I see the forum hosts already removed content from your post, so yes, it is polling and as a courtesy, I was letting you know it's against the terms of use on this forum. And yes, when anyone posts anything personal, such as IMEI, Serial Numbers, etc., the forum hosts edit it out.

Can you provide the contact information for the admins? I do not see it in the TOU. Thanks.

Thank you for that explanation. As evidenced in your participation in this thread, I do not believe it. I voiced my opinion about your participation to the admins via the address available in the terms of use. Perhaps our opinions will be validated one way or the other.

Regardless, the users in this thread should be looking for correlations. I will be sharing mine.
