iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

As I suspected, you can see the screen just fine. With the screen on, your phone clearly looks fine and I'm also quite sure works just fine. Yes, I see the scratch, and I understand it annoys you, but unless you can't use or touch the screen, there isn't an issue which stops you from using the phone as intended. So your criticism to suggest the paint being scratched on a car doesn't affect driving the car is actually a fine analogy for an iPhone. The phone works fine with a scratch on it. This is a cosmetic issue, which is not affecting normal use of your phone. If you want to stop getting any more blemishes or scratches on your iPhone screen spend a few dollars and put a screen protector on it and call it a day.

First of all, the photos you refer to are from another forum member.

Second, you are free to claim otherwise, but the car paint analogy is invalid for the iPhone's screen. Paint is not relevant to the user experience of a car. The windshield and any defects in the windshield are.

Third, if you want to make an analogy between scratches on a car's paint and scratches on an iPhone, the exterior paint scratches are comparable to scratches on iPhone's metal frame or the glass back, i.e. parts you do not look at when operating the device.

Fourth, I point you to this article:

"Apple reportedly had Corning, which makes the Gorilla Glass it’s used on iPhones dating back to the first model, to create a special custom blend for the new phone."

Maybe Corning didn't get the custom blend right this time?

I'm not arguing with you. I don't have any scratch issues with my 11 Pro Max because I put a screen protector on mine before it ever got turned on. Whether the analogy works or not, is immaterial. If your phone has gotten any scratches, you should put a screen protector on and be done with this. Otherwise, you'll likely get more over time. Scratches on your screen doesn't make the screen harder to see or use. It's a cosmetic issue, which I'm sure is annoying. But you can do something to stop more.

Screen protectors no matter which one you get do not seal flush, thus very possible to get scratches under them I have had a 6 plus, 7, and X all with invisible shield protectors on them all of them suffering the same fate. Same with cases I have had the life proof and otter boxes on all of my phone except my 11 that still did not save them from scuffs and scratches. My 11 was treated differently it never went in my pocket never dropped, only time it was not in my hand is when it was placed down on its charging pad, or on the mouse pad at my desk, yet I still have scratch on it just below the ear piece.

I have used several phones and none of them got scratches on the display. I use all my phones delicately but this iphone 11 pro screen easily got scratches. I couldn't figure out the reason but definitely the display is poorly built. For such costly phone getting scratches without dropping or hitting with sharp objects is unacceptable. I really feel cheated by Apple.

It's pretty simple actually. The glass on a 4s is not the same glass as the newer formulations. And you should just count yourself lucky if that phone has no physical damage after all that. Many many many other 4s owners, were not so lucky. Since the new formulation was released with iPhone 11, the incidence of "my glass on my phone broke" have virtually dried up, in comparison to previous phones.

I have been an avid apple user since past 10 years...got an i11pro recently.. To my dismay, on the very first day of placing it in my Cloth lined hand bag (with no sharp or abrasive items in the bag), the screen developed a scratch which Is visible and can be felt on running a finger over it. For the price I paid for this phone, the least I expect is a scratch proof screen! Now, I dread to use this phone for fear of more damage! Am totally disappointed with apple for the poor quality for an expensive phone! That screen quality is gross negligence on the part of apple! I would appreciate a screen replacement free of cost by apple. Will anyone in charge care to reply?

Since you have posted on a user to user only forum, no one in charge will provide a response. If you are not happy, use the Contact Support button at the top of this page to address your concern with Apple directly. But don't be surprised when you are informed there is no coverage for cosmetic issues on iPhone.

Buy a good screen protector to avoid future incidents.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 11. I bought it in novembre and after few weeks it started to have little scratches. At the beginning I thought it was my fault but then I understood that is the screen that got problems! Now it is full of little scratches and even the Face ID doesn’t works. I went to the Apple store and the answer was: we don’t know anything about screen problems so if you want to fix it you have to pay the new screen!!! This is crazy! I had more then ten iPhone in my life and this is the first one with a problem like this one! I have even the iPhone 11 Pro and this one is perfect! No one scratch on the screen!!! I’m very angry with Apple, I’m not going to bay more products from them, for me and for my company which at the moment got more then 30 iPhone.
