iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

have the same problem. Reported this to Apple and reaction it’s a cosmetic thing and I have to probably change the glass on my own account. Because Apple is not supporting this. However my iPhone is new. and I’m always very careful with the screen.

apple reaction sounds strange to me. First because they mentioned its an an unknown issue while here thousands of the me toos refering to the same issue. And second the Uninterested attitude ..

any one got experience with this and perhaps got a solution from Apple?

Me too so angry. After ten years of iPhone usage I might move to another vendor. The only thing that kept me with Apple is the service. So why bother if the service and taking responsibility *****

Every other flagship smart phone scratches just as easily, so feel free to switch, just don't expect different results.

guys I want to say something else now and that is I have a MacBook Air and Im a little concerned now as I have faintly scratched the screen on that now to but my MacBook still works and function as normal and anyway the scratches are only faint ones that you can see when you put the MacBook in a certain position in the day light so do you think that's bad what Ive done which I didn't mean to scratch the screen

I have the same issue: my 11 Pro Max screen is VERY sensitive and easy to scratch. I take very good care of my devices. I would never put the iPhone together with anything else in my pocket, for example. Yet within a few months, I got a pretty deep scratch. Even polishing it with a German made glass scratch remover did not completely remove it.

This is by far the worst screen glass since all the iPhones from the 6 on.

What’s going on, Apple?!

I’ve owned every iPhone since the iPhone 3S and my iPhone X finally gave out so I picked up an iPhone 11. The screen is awful. I noticed on day one that the screen looked like it had a smudge on it and it wouldn’t come off just to find out it is like thin surface scratches. Since then it’s like they randomly show up all over my phone. I always use otter box cases that keep the phone screen off surfaces and have always protected my phones well. It seems just by swiping on the screen it gets these fine scratches. Super disappointed in the quality of this iphone vs my past ones. Thinking about returning it and just getting the X repaired out of warranty.

First, you are posting in the wrong forum, this is for the iPhone 11. The laptop screens have always scratched easily, they are not Gorilla Glass or sapphire coated, as you’re not supposed to touch them often.

Be very careful when cleaning - watch a YouTube video about it if you’re unsure how.

Short of replacing the screen, there’s nothing you can do. There are products to remove scratches but if you’re not extremely careful, you’ll make it worse.

I would prefer scratch resistance as well, It seems that this glass has absolutely zero scratch resistance. I put it in my front pocket and take it out and it has fine scratches on the screen. Nothing else in my pocket either! And with all of the impact resistant cases on the market and the fact they make money from apple care and screen replacements it’s just odd they would choose to make it more impact resistant than scratch resistant. The screen in bright light because of the scratches just really ticks me off. And now I’m stuck with this thing.

I have owned iPhone from first generation, not one scratch, I have several generations since then and not one scratch, I updated from in iPhone 6S plus, purchased or upgraded to an iPhone 11 promax, I have two scratches on my phone, I use this phone as did the others, this is upsetting, I will contact AT&T and Apple, as I see this as an issue, I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem and to my surprise there are many complaints, how there screens are easily scratched!!

Yeah, that is Probably correct, and a case protects against the glass cracking. But I personally don’t like screen protectors and feel they can make the screen not as touch sensitive. It’s 2020, there must be the technology to make a durable glass that offers more scratch resistant than this. It is ridiculous how easily it gets fine scratches. And if you buy the glass protective screen at the Apple store like my wife has it’s not so cheap. That screen is over $40 and you get one replacement on it I believe.

I’ll just reiterate, I’ve owned every generation on iPhone since iPhone 3s and this is by far the WORST with scratches. It’s don’t care about what an article from the verge has to say about it. I’ve owned an iPhone X for two years and never had an issue with scratching or cracking a screen. I always place my phones in otter box cases which have been fantastic. I buy an 11 ans put it in an otter box symmetry case and within a day it has smudge like scratches all over the screen. To me that unacceptable. I own an iPad Pro 11”, iPad 10.2 and and iPad Air for work that is used all day long and never had problems with any of those screens scratching either. So I don’t know what they did with the 11 but it for some reason seems to be a step backwards.
